SlickdealsForumsHot DealsMilwaukee N95 Professional Multi-Purpose Valved Respirator with Gasket: Five for $12.31, N95 Multi-Purpose Unvalved Respirator: Five for $7.54 $12.27
Home Depot has a "Buy More, Save More" deal with Milwaukee safety equipment. The N95 masks with gaskets are high quality and usually $5.47 each. But add five individual masks to the cart to get them for $2.46 each.
If i want to wear a mask for ANY reason, that is my perogative. Dont care and shouldnt have to justify to anyone.
Don't give his ignorance any attention
Either way, these are pretty decent shop masks for working with wood. They fit well for an average size head. Too small for me. And not fantastic for out and about protection against, or avoiding spreading, infectious disease. For that, you don't want a valve, and specifically for the latest strains of Covid, or for measles, for that matter, n95 might not be enough for more than brief exposure. If you're immunocompromised, look into PAPR. You might look a bit foolish, but properly fitted, that's actually going to protect you. Otherwise, a properly fitted medical n95 will at least reduce the exposure load enough that you're more likely to have a successful antibody response before you get an active infection. Those blue masks aren't going to do a damned thing.
If you can't afford a PAPR, and are immunocompromised, the current strains don't have an antibody treatment, and antivirals aren't a guaranteed treatment. At the very least, get a full face respirator, and get biological filter cartridges for it. That's about the best option, unless you're able and willing to fully isolate.

These are really great. Comfortable and seal really well. Used when I refurbed an old weber genesis grill. Much better than the other crappy N95s if you are actually dealing with harmful stuff in the air.

The fact you got covid people popping up in a work shop related protection post. Like have you guys ever seen the amount of metallic debris in the air after grinding for a while, or ever seen cement saws do their work? Wood shop?
Maybe we should wear these masks for covid my coworker might give me 😂
Courtesy, civility, and common sense usually come along with a proper education. Humanities and the literary classics are more important than we give credit. The lol emoji crowd finally learned the difference btw to too and two, but still have some ways to go.
3M valved N95 masks more than occasionally went on sale for $1 a piece in the height of the pandemic when they were harder to find than they are now.
edit: 3M 8511, which isn't even on sale right now, is still cheaper than these Milwaukee masks. And presumably better quality.
Agreed. Walmart had the 3M 8511 10 pack for $3.49 in late June 2022, which was an insanely cheap deal even with pre-pandemic pricing. Amazon[amazon.com] has them for $16.83 for a 10 pack, which is a lot cheaper than a 5 pack for $12.31.

The 3M don't fit my face very well and are very uncomfortable. I'm getting one of these and 2 pairs of each of the demo gloves. Hopefully these fit better than the 3M's, but we'll see.
