One thing to keep in mind is the only change between this and the 2020 (edit: thanks!) version is the remote no longer takes external batteries but is instead rechargeable. (This is a negative to me, but apparently most people don't have a stash of rechargeable double A's and prefer having a remote that only lasts as long as the battery.) Again, ONLY the remote that comes with this has been changed. You can still use your existing remotes.

Re: remote having a microphone that's always listening: Huh, that's arguably usable (instead of using the button on the roku itself or a phone to access the find my remote feature which works *usually* when you don't have a secondary remote...) Mind you that has to be a rather significant constant battery drain might have to get one just to find out if it's worth the constant drain / micro usb charging laugh out loud

I would rather have regular batteries. The AA or AAA batteries in a typical remote last for the shelf life of the battery. Remotes aren't really a high drain on the battery.
