M1 iPad Pro is more than capable of running mac os or desktop apps but Apple won't implement that.

That'd cannibalize sells from their MacBooks.

They prefer people buying iPad and MacBook instead of just an iPad.

M1 is too powerful for ipad but it's probably cheaper to put that in pro iPad instead of developing a14x, a14z, a15x etc.

This would be a business suicide move if Apple were to do it. The M1 Pro is more than capable of running macOS and there is ZERO plausible explanation for not releasing it on the flagship Pro device. I'm putting my money on Apple not pulling this move because of how harsh the blowback would be.

No. False and would be crazy if they did. M2 is just a "super m1" type as it's on the same nanometer tech stack.

not Business suicide, but they are right that it won't happen. Apple supports iPads through OS updates for a minimum of 5 years, if not longer. There is zero-point-zero chance they drop support for the M1 as posited.

Target will sell this for $550 by next year black Friday. Unless you need it now, there is no need to buy this 2022 model as it is as good as the 2021 model.
