To the best of what I know: The Ryzen is a little cooler running, and more power efficient, but the CPU loses out on horsepower and especially multithreading to the Intel. But in MOST gaming you're really only talking a few FPS, single digits for most people.

Between the Intel and AMD options for the last few generations (Intel 10th gen and up and AMD 5XXX and up), they really do trade blows pretty well. Intel gets some good gains with the new 12th and up architectures with the implementation of E-Cores. For productivity, Intel all the way right now. But for gaming, price wins, look for the best price and be happy knowing you're going to have a good time.

Honestly the bigger win on this machine is the GPU. The 3070 Ti is pretty crazy, especially when it's allowed full wattage like this one. I'm pushing a 2k ultrawide monitor (external) and it's handling it like a champ with great frame rates.

Looks like a pretty excellent find. The full power 3070 Ti mobile is a beast. I have the Intel version of the M15 R7 and love it.

Been thinking about buying a productivity and occasionally gaming laptop and is this a really good deal? Specs-wise, it looks good to me for what I need but if you guys think there will be a better laptop that will come along or wait for please weigh in. No urgency but it'll be nice to get one since I only have a desktop right now but like to have a portable computer. TIA!

Do thermals suck on all 3070ti/3080 gaming laptops? I bought the main gear vector pro 2 i9 3070ti for $1199 but all I read is about how hot it gets. Debating returning it idk.
