After you've completed the required days, the promos will be moved from the In Progress column to the Earned column. That's when it's safe for you to cancel your Fi service. In your Fi account, click on Account-->Your Plan. Scroll down until you see Leave Fi, click on it. It will give you options on what to do (cancel, pause, port out etc). Since the 1st bill usually started 2 days after your service was activated, the 61st day should be 2 or more days before the 3rd billing period starts. Cancel promptly on the 61st day and you won't be charged the 3rd bill.
you don't have to since even iphone 8 or SE 2nd gen @$150 will suffice ($600-200-250-150). If you want Pro then iphone 11 is enough since it fetches $330 as trade in ($900-300-250-330).
Nice deal, but no one is trading in a 13 Pro Max for a free Pixel 7 lol

I created a new Google account and a GV number for each Fi deal. I do have about 10 TracFone lines going on to earn Rewards points, but I don't port from TF. With my TF Rewards points, I've got at least a dozen refurbished iPhones11's and XRs just for the $15 cost of the time plan that they require for each phone. I don't use iPhones, so I've sold most of them and keep a few for trade-in.
Could you please advise on any reddit thread (or any other resource) to read more about TF reward points.
I got 2 iPhone 11s - close to $250 OTD for each for this deal. So it would be great to know of other ways to get refurbished which are cheaper. Thanks.

Thanks. That looks like a great forum. Seems like I have a lot of reading to do.
I'll search for a wiki or introductory thread to understand everything.

One quick question for you - I'm guessing there is not enough time to get the iphone 11 refurbished from TF for this deal? I think Fi gives 30 days to send your old phone back, and I was just wondering if there's a way to buy a refurb and send it vs sending in the brand new phones I have. Does the TF deal take a lot of time for the reward points to be available?

1. No you won't have enough time to get a refurb iphone11 from TF for this deal. The phones (new and refurb) are sold on TF website www.tracfone.com [tracfone.com] , click on SHOP-->smartphones. The refurb phones come and go. I bought two refurb iPhone11's from TF in early Dec, and I've been sitting on a $300 discount coupon waiting for it to be available again.
2. You earn big rewards amount (7K to 10K points) when adding a new phone line, referring someone (5K to 8K points). Those points are pending for 60 days before becoming available for use. You can earn smaller point amounts (5 to 100 points) by playing games, watching videos, doing surveys, and those points are pending for 10-30 days. But I don't bother with them.

Perfect. Thanks again.
This is an incredible deal. Can't believe I didn't hear about this before, could have saved a lot of money. I've traded in new phones where the older ones, refurbs, would have worked perfectly.

When you guys do trade in to Google fi, do you keep forensic files like make a recording of entire packing process? Need your advice.

I ve done Costco trade in before which was incredible length period in order to get trade in credit. In comparison, how about Google fi trade in program?

If I were younger and not retired, I probably would try to get a job with Google Fi to improve the programming of their deals. Some of the wordings of their error messages are confusing as heck.

I take pictures of the trade-in phone sitting in the box to assure myself that I did pack the correct phone, but I don't make a video recording of packing it up.

I've done a LOT of these trade ins. Both for Google Store and Google Fi.
It's totally luck of the draw. Even if you have videos/pictures it doesn't change their decision in most cases.
For a lot of the users, they do give the right trade in. But for a "significant" percentage, their trade ins will be low-balled because of random reasons such as Swollen battery, incorrectly reported phone model, phone not factory reset, phone icloud locked etc etc.

For Google Fi, they even make you checkmark the box where it says you need to accept their trade in evaluation. One time I had traded in a mint iphone and they gave $30 saying it was incorrectly reported. The problem is with their third party evaluator HYLA Mobile. Other times, at least with the Google Store, they did give the right trade in amount.

Furthermore it takes forever for them to inspect the phone. The USPS tracking will not show delivered and it takes them several days after the last tracking message of Departed from the Nashville center.

I'm about to process the order. Says its still working on my side

I'm buying an iphone 11 from someone on facebook marketplace for $185. Google says trade in value is $330 and I get the $250 bonus credit. If my math is correct I'll be getting the pixel 7 pro 128gb for $899 - $300(promo) - $250(credit) + $185(buying iphone) - $330(trade in credit) = $204
