For those that got new Iphone 11s from Metro to trade-in here, did you pack the Iphone box inside the trade-in box as well? I wonder if that will screw-up the trade-in?

They want the trade-in phone only, without anything else (SIM, box, case, charger, cable). The more additional things you include, the more pissed off the worker will be because the worker has to remove them and dispose of them.

Gotcha, I just didn't want to waste a brand new box + packaging.

Latest update when selecting trade in device.

Make sure to check the following if trading a device:
"If the value of the device is lower than the estimate, send it back to me."

Looks like too many people complained about wanting their device when trade in was lower than earlier estimate. Or maybe Google didn't want the legal complications of receiving devices reported lost/stolen.

But the screen still says that if you don't accept the adjusted value then they can't complete the trade-in (i.e. if you select No then the NEXT button won't turn blue to proceed).

My screen looks different. It has a drop down menu similar to Google store trade in screen. I can't attach screenshots on the app but here's what the updated trade in menu screen says:

Get trade-in estimate
Manufacturer
Samsung
Model
Galaxy S21
Storage Size
128 GB
Is your phone in good condition?
Is your phone free of cracks and does the screen work properly?
[x]No
Does your phone turn on?
[x]Yes

[x]If the value of the device is lower than the estimate, send it back to me.
Estimated trade-in value:
$425.00

I agree to factory reset this device before shipping. Otherwise, credit will be not be issued and Fi is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or misused data.

I'm on Safari web browser on iPhone.

strange.. about 10 days ago i had checked the progress list had appropriate checks. Just checked today, after tradein was confirmed successful, and there is no sign of any Fi credit section on the website (as if there was no promo whatsoever), and in the app the section is there but doesnt even show checkmarks for activation (when previously it was already counting down the days). very strange..

I just checked mine and the promotions are still there (Billing-->Fi Savings-->In Progress). This P7 deal has two promotions and you have to click on each one to see the checklist. That's how it works on the web site. I don't use the FI app.

That is exactly what I saw. I have done a bunch of these trade ins. Google Fi does NOT allow you to submit the trade in unless you agree to their evaluation, which could be lower.
Google store has the option to return the phone if you disagree with the evaluation.

Just replied to you on the other thread & posting here for reference.

I think it only works if you are an existing user with at least one active Google Fi line.

Please follow these steps.
1. Go to your account page & select "BUY DEVICE"
2. Select any device (I tried with P7/S22 Ultra)
3. The promo terms will say "existing user"
4. Select trade in & a drop down menu will appear.
5. Select "NO" for "Is your phone free of cracks and does the screen work properly?"
6. Select "YES" device "MUST TURN ON"
7. You'll see a checkbox that says "If the value of the device is lower than the estimate, send it back to me." Check that.
8. You'll see a check box that says "I agree to factory reset this device before shipping. Otherwise, credit will be not be issued and Fi is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or misused data". Check that.
9. Add trade in button will turn BLUE
10. This the summary after I "add trade in":

Estimated value
$425.00
Galaxy S21 (128 GB)
Turns on, screen broken, factory reset
If in lower condition, return phone

So to activate the phone when new, you must use esim?

To be able to use service in another phone, you then transfer service to physical sim?

I inserted a Fi physical sim into a new 7 phone, but it doesn't do anything.

I inserted a Fi physical sim into a new 7 phone, but it doesn't do anything.
* I activated my P7 using the eSIM without problems. But some people obtained a physical SIM then activated their P7 with the physical SIM to avoid some issues with getting the eSIM activation recognized.
* Did you download the Fi app to the P7 then run the app to activate the phone (with either eSIM or physical SIM) ?
* Do not use that Fi line with another phone.
