Using them for 2 years - very unhappy.
1. Every couple months hub will just stop working and need to be power switched
2. camera quality are sub par - cann get a clear picture of the porch pirate's face
3. worst one - the app is horrible. From the moment you get notification that someone is on your front porch (notification is almost instant - good) you will need 20 seconds before you can get live feed from camera on your phone. And that's on fast WiFi connection. And only if app works at all - often (every couple days) it just won't work - no recordings, won't play recordings, thumbnail preview on camera can be few weeks old
4. speaking something from camera speaker - plus another 10-15 seconds if it will work at all.
I'm so pissed with them. There is only thing they do good - giving you a recording of someone stealing your package while you deprerately trying to make app work.

If you already have an Arlo system and want to add 3 more cameras, this is a pretty decent deal. But if you're starting from scratch, I'd personally look elsewhere than Arlo.

I use to have an Arlo Pro (1080p) setup at my house and my ex's place (both outdoors only). We set it up so we can see each other's cameras and alerts. We share 3 kids (and yes, we get along great… for the sake of the kids). They were good daytime cameras and mediocre at best at night. But it served its purpose.

Anyways, we started having problems with our Arlo after about a year. Many times the cameras wouldn't record or send alerts when objects were moving in view of them. Cameras suddenly were no longer showing up in the system… then her base station suddenly disappeared from the app. Kept having to reset the system. It was pretty frustrating.

Decided to replace the Arlo. Looked at multiple different systems… Blink, Nest, Eufy, etc. The Eufy 4K system was on sale on Amazon. Bought it and set the systems up at mine and my Ex's. The Eufy is wasaaayyyyyyy better than the Arlo that we had. Day AND night video feeds are way better. More consistent picking up objects and sending alerts. Added the Doorbell and Floodlights. No need for subscription service if you only need the last 7 days of videos saved. The Doorbell changes the outdoor Chime depending on the holiday season. For example, on Halloween, when you press the button, instead of the standard "ding dong", the doorbell let out a scream. Trick or Treaters loved it.

I'm sure there are many who love their Arlo System. I just had bad luck. I'm also sure people like their Nests and Blinks… but after 2 years, I'm super satisfied with my Eufy System.

Thanks… there's a reason we're divorced… but we put a lot aside for the kids… And the kids are happy whichever house they're hanging out at… We can celebrate birthdays and holidays together. It's working out 😄

P.s. I had the Arlo before they required a subscription service… when it was free. Not sure if there's a free service for Arlo.
I worked at Arlo so they gave me these cams for free and I use it for my own home, no issues here. The Arlo Pro1, Arlo Pro 2, Arlo Q, all have free cloud recordings for life! So these are the devices I use. For the newer cameras, there's a way to get free cloud storage but it compromises your privacy since you have to connect to a Dev server not their Production server, so I wouldn't recommend it

The newer cameras require subscriptions. I also have the gen2 with no fees, but the video quality is lower and night vision isn't very good. That's the trade off
That sucks. Gonna return them after trying them out

Their local storage feature broke a week ago for non-subscribed users and they were no in any hurry to fix it. Just returned my set to Costco and switch to Eufy. I met another person in line behind me who was also returning Arlo. 🤣

As someone that has these and wyze cams just go with wyze. You can put an SD card in them and get playback for days. Arlos typically catch the tail end of the event. Plus wyze cams have an attachment you can buy to plug them into light sockets outside. Just my 2 cents

Those with existing base stations can connect these cameras to base station , connected with local hard drive for local video storage. No subscription needed

Eu.fy 4k, POE system? That system looks like it's good and good value. I already have a 8 channel, 8 cam POE system from Lorex.

What are your thoughts on their Floodlights and spot cameras?

I bought two of their floodlights for $199 each.

@allanA6531, Glad to hear that. Thanks for the confirmation.

I have an old setup with an Arlo base. I am buying this one for places where I don't have power supply. All other places, I have Wyze floodlight with SD Card.

My Eufy 4K cameras are wireless except for the doorbell and floodlight. Floodlight works great. The doorbell doesn't need to be hardwired, but if you want to use the existing house chimes, then you have to hardwire using the existing doorbell wires was anyways.

Thanks, I've been looking out for multiple Arlo camera deal. Don't need the spotlight feature so $33 for a good camera is a great deal

I have no internet service at a remote property where I'd like to use these other than when I go there with my hotspot. Can I use them with NAS storage of some type?
You should check out their Go 2 camera l, but it requires a cellular service plan.

General consensus among the reviewers seems to be that the Camera itself is pretty good but support is pretty terrible. Which means, if something happens to your camera you are SOL. Can people with experience chime in on this claim?
