It's Christmas, like a lot of SD users I'm here to maximize my out put. I am a long time SD user but I'm listed as a novice because I usually do not find the SDs.

So I got what I feel was a super SD over the weekend and yesterday I decided to share it. It was B&M only but instead of scrolling on by I'm getting voted down and a few snarky comments for trying to HELP others find the same deal.

I saw the post and it seems like it was originally devoid of any meaningful info like links or proof. Frustrating people makes the situation worse than doing nothing at all. Also it's obligatory to post a brickseek link if it's a Walmart deal. Those are the reasons why you were rightfully bent over.

I did not see your post but you want to put the price, item and B&M in the title then in the body the links to the product and reviews, as well as brickseek links etc.

This site makes money from links. B&M is tough - even in the freebies section. Please don't give up and don't be afraid to PM a staff member for help. We really need to teach people how to find deals, contests, and freebies, because there is an art to it.

Even when you post the type of deals members like and even when it's a great price, the trolls will still come. You'll get better at it. hug

Welcome to the club. I typically post B&M YMMV deals sometimes if I feel it's a good enough deal. Unfortunately it's the YMMV part that annoys people to thumb it down. Some people expect to be able to get EVERY single deal and get irritable for being unable to get it.

Though sometimes it's those who make money on reselling such things or those who think that the deal was "stolen" from a different site that they're on who will come here en masse to "bury" the deal by thumbing it down into oblivion.

I had the latter happen at least once or twice due to my "fan club" from another deal site (CAG) assuming I was posting "their" deals.

Brickseek is all but useless for Walmart currently. It may show the current price but typically says UNKNOWN for quantity on most (if not all) items still. If it's a clearance item then the price range could be vastly different from store to store. So what price do you use then? The lowest for your area? Then if someone who clicked on it finds their area is stingy with markdowns, you get a TD because of that?

Either way we were all newbies here at one time or another. You learn what is typically expected from a deal post but it IS frustrating when people TD something even after you've checked the boxes usually expected (price, location, etc), especially if it's a clearance item since usually those are highly YMMV. Unfortunately some here have this undeserved sense of entitlement that makes them think that they deserve to find every deal at the lowest prices and get their panties in a bunch cause they wasted a half nanosecond of their precious time. There was no meaningful links to post. It was a B&M and not available on wm.com. How hard is that to understand. I included a link to what it looks like and the price I paid, later included a picture of the physical UPC off the one I purchased.

Brickseek means absolutely nothing to me. If it's such a rule there should be a box to tick to include it before the post is allowed to be shared. If you and others are so hell bent on elusive rules then the better thing is to ask that I include said items (IF available) and not be such grinches.

Brickseek is mostly useless at this point anyway. It may show the lower prices but the quantity is hopelessly broken with most items showing unknown.

You provided more than ample information for a YMMV deal.

Some users are just never happy.
