Amazon is now showing the updated, brighter (higher lumens --
1100, vs. previous version which I think are either 700 or 800) Hue retrofit recessed downlights,
white and color ambiance version, in stock and on-sale with a 15% off coupon for
$33 off. I think this coupon showed up just within the past couple days. Product #
578674
These came out fairly recently and have been in and out of stock on Amazon, and never on sale. This is the only significant sale I've found for these since launch. They have been in stock fairly consistently on the Hue site, and at Best Buy, but for $220.
They are available from Amazon to arrive by Dec 24 for my area (northeast US).
Note that these lights require an existing can in the ceiling, so these would replace your existing retrofit downlights. Hue also recently released another new model, the 'Slim Downlights' which are much lower profile, and don't require a can. The Slim ones need to be hardwired, and generally would replace older light fixtures with regular hot/neutral/ground wires.

While they advertise 1100
That's really for the most neutral white ish color
The actual colors like blue green red etc may have only had marginal gain in brightness
Yes I have completed three rooms so far slowly getting them from Costco. Need 8 more and I will be done.

I got a similar Amazon deal for the 1100 lumen 4-pack for $187+tax back in late August. Still not as good as the Best Buy BF deal they had where they bundled two individual lights for $90 (equivalent to $180 for a 4-pack) of the 1100 lumen version. I was able to get up to 6 by making 3 separate orders (kept getting a 4th order canceled) and 2 more by asking a relative to make an order.
I will also add that I made another order in Oct./Nov. for a 4-pack of 1100 lumen ones, which kept going in and out of stock. Amazon sent me a "new" box but as soon as the delivery driver handed it to me I knew something was wrong as you can hear the lamps jingling and hitting each other in the box. Inside the brown box was the Hue box with seals already broken and lamps loosely strewn about. Needless to say, they were returned at Whole Foods within 15 minutes of delivery. If you order from Amazon make sure what you received has no broken seals and neatly packed inside.
BB had a "4 pack" for $180 for 1100 lumens on BF but you had to order two bundles of two individual lights.

Gah, wish I'd seen that deal! Definitely would have scooped up some.
