Not available in my current zip or my old zip so YMMV but when hunting for an iPhone deal I saw Optimum Mobile has $200 off iPhone 14 line.
Looks like $629 plus $20 activation and $15 for cheapest first month of service.
I have no idea about this carrier, looks like they use T-Mobile towers which has awful coverage in my area. Their support page says you can request unlock after 60 days of service, and with the $15/month plan that would be 50 for 2 months including the activation fee. $679 for an unlocked iPhone 14 after 2 months of service does not sound bad. Probably tax too if your state has sales tax.

But the math goes like this:
$649 + tax + $15/mo IF YOU HAVE OPTIMUM INTERNET. Otherwise it's $35/mo.
And the phone is locked for 60 days.

It seemed too good to be true and I was sad it's not on the west coast. Did some digging and found that $20/month surcharge for no internet bundle so that kills the deal.
I have been thinking about switching to Visible, but all the rebate issues people have posted here makes me cautious. Also not currently on an approved carrier for the visible promo so would have to port somewhere, then port again to qualify…
It's also interesting that Visible charges $829 ( before the gift card) but Apple charges $799 for iPhone 14.
They use a network switching whatever. The parent company is Altice. Their network still glitches out.
I dont know if anything has changed since 2021 but when i had optimum, i got their unlimited plans for $20/mo. Then they would required triple play and increased the price. To top it all off, they increased the price for their basic internet to $89.99.
Switched over to fios and they wont stop sending me offers to go back with them but nah. Customer service isnt great either unfortunately. They bought Optimum and then started outsourcing almost everything.
