That post refers to how Slickdeals sometimes embellishes the value to say these are $150 headphones in this post, for example. It's true, if you go by only this post it's misleading and you think you're getting a truly exceptional deal when in actuality it's meh.

I remember years ago when anything appeared on front page, you just bought now and think later because they were all genuine bargains to meet the threshold for being front page worthy. Not anymore.

It fits them perfectly but for myself I feel Y500 is a bit on the smaller side. On the other hand since it is lighter so it may not hurt like the Y50 does after a while.

Won't be buying from them as the last time this deal came up they placed my order and didn't send it for a month. Took me calling them to say it was out of stock and couldn't be fulfilled. They even charged my card before shipping it

Great to know, thanks. I'd had some no-name headphones that sounded fine, but had voice notifications (including one when the battery was low) that could not be disabled or turned down and were so loud they almost hurt my ears. Definitely a dealbreaker for me, so thanks for pointing it out.

It appears that in order to use the mic you need to connect it to the cable that came with it. It doesn't seem to have a stand-alone built in mic. Someone was comparing on a review that they were upset they needed to connect the cable in order to make or receive calls. Might want to check that out before buying. That alone is a deal breaker for me.
