Meh, no surge protection so make sure that's your use case
Pretty sure the implication is just that retailers will mark down all remaining Christmas lights, decorations, and related accessories after Christmas.

14 gauge isn't ideal for a power outlet strip. 12 is much safer especially for anything drawing heat.

I ended up getting this instead since it's a surge protector and it looks like 14 gauge https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/t/16330657

A space heater will pull 15 amps, so you are at your limit with 14 gauge wire. Also know new wire is cca or copper clad aluminum. Not pure copper. So you lose some quality in that respect as well.

It's never good advice to plug a space heater/hair drier/toaster into any power strip. Plug in multiple high current devices and you're asking for a breaker trip over time even with a 20 A circuit.

14 gauge wire is what is required by the national electrical code for entire 15 amp circuits in homes. If the device can plug into this and you're using it the way a power strip should be used, it should be fine.

Thanks. For my use it will only be for a Christmas tree, so it will work for my needs. It's good to know about limitations though of certain types of devices. thanks

Thank you for pointing this out. I misread it as a surge protector. Maybe it's overkill, but I would feel better with a surge protector for a Christmas tree.
Not that important. The christmas lights have their own built-in fusing. Plus, a surge protector trips on a huge voltage spike, not a current spike. Your tree could literally be on fire and the surge suppressor wouldn't trip.
Plus, if you use an OLD surge suppressor strip, they might actually ADD to the fire hazard. As older surge strips had a problem where the glue around the MOV could catch fire
