I used to have a lot of toothaches and the dentist recommended covering it up with Sensodyne. That never really worked, and turns out I had early stage gingivitis, which some mechanical deep cleanings at a periodontist cleared up. The toothaches went away, which led me to conclude it was gum related the whole time. That's when I switched to this tooth paste.
I can't conclude whether this toothpaste has helped improved my condition, but it definitely hasn't gotten worse since stopping my other sensitivity toothpastes. My objective for now, is to "hold the line" from where my periodontist left me, so that's a win.
This Crest foams up nicely, and as a result I notice myself brushing longer because it still feels like it's active, longer. The other brands are more paste-like and don't foam, so they felt diluted and "done" sooner. My personal speculation is that beyond the active fluoride ingredients, there might be something with the foaming agents to help the chemicals penetrate deeper. That special sauce is non-medical in nature, so if it's not listed, it'd be harder to compare this against other brands. Once again, personal speculation and just my personal experiences.

Also there is no verification of ingredients or qty of ingredients. It could be one drop of ingredient per batch and still claimed to have it.
As others point out same active ingredients
