Hello, I hope you're well.

Tesla is offering certain customers a $7,500 discount and 10,000 Supercharger credits if they take delivery of a Model 3 or Model Y by 12/31/2022. Check your text message; here is an example.

Yesterday, I posted about how the Model 3 RWD and Model Y will qualify for the full Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) $7,500 if you take delivery in January or February 2023 (of course, if Tesla runs promotions or drop prices in early 2023, there could be better savings then). This is better in several major ways:
  • Lower sales tax because this is a discount, not a tax credit
  • You get the discount immediately, instead of having to wait until 2024 when you file taxes for 2023
  • You get 10,000 Supercharger credits, which is valued at between $500 and $900
  • If you're financing, you don't have to pay interest on the $7,500
  • (For some people) If you didn't qualify for the tax credit due to being over the income limit, you don't have to worry about that at all
  • 12/29/2022 UPDATE: IRS published its list [irs.gov], and some vehicles will not qualify for the tax credit that starts in 2023; of note, Model Y 5-Seat does not qualify because it passes the $55,000 limit, whereas the Model Y 7-Seat does qualify because it is below the $80,000 limit.
  • 01/04/2022 UPDATE: The 10,000 Supercharger miles (which is actually 4,000 kWH) have been added to the Tesla App. Check Settings > Loot Box.
Author's Note: This is a deal thread, not a political thread or a thread for people who dislike Tesla. Please refrain from going off topic or thumbing down this thread. You have every right to hate Tesla and its CEO, but please don't thumb down a thread related to Tesla simply because of that. Slickdeals is a deal-hunting forum above all else, and I'd greatly appreciate it if we treat threads in Hot Deals as deal threads and nothing else. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Good luck trying to get a Bolt for MSRP starting in January. One of the Chevy dealers on Leasehackr is selling at MSRP through Jan 1...then prices will be jacked up. The dealers I've talked to locally all have addendums currently...I can only imagine things will get worse in the new year.

And a base Bolt (if you can find one) is not comparable to a Tesla M3SR+...I have a Bolt EUV Premier and it doesn't compare in any way except they're both electric.

But, if you can find a dealer selling a base Bolt at MSRP in January, then it's a great deal.
"We will raise the price by $7500 when the $7500 government rebate is available"

Can manufacturers make it any more obvious that government rebates and incentives go straight to the manufacturers pockets?

Not a surprise for anyone who has been paying attention. I said this would happen earlier in this thread.
And the stock is getting CRUSHED right now. Down 7% today. LOL!

The increased demand for EV's during the last year will reduce with the falling gas prices at the pump. A lot of part time Uber/Lyft drivers were scooping up Teslas last year.

Plenty of Ys available in the northern California region. Search for zip code 95628(Sacramento). They even gave an additional 1k discount on the base Y(65,900).

It might even make financial sense to fly here for pickup and still save money.
Is 65,900 the base price or price after the 1k discount you mentioned?

These cars can't charge in the polar vortex temps we've been having in the midwest the last few days. I've noticed there are usually alot of Teslas on the roads, but not the the last couple days. Haven't seen one electric vehicle on the road. They just become bricks in this type of weather. They are too expensive to not be reliable in super cold weather. They only make a good backup vehicle which means they can't be mass marketed. This has always been the reality of the situation with these electric vehicles.

Decided to take advantage of this deal last week. I ordered my M3 LR on Wednesday night (~11 PM) and was able to pick it up on Thursday evening. Still can't believe that I got it so quickly. The best car buying experience that I've ever had.

Omg Honda Civic Guy is back. How many hundreds of comments have you made that have been point for point eviscerated by 'lampshade' over the last few YEARS mr normal discussion (ad hominem)? You're the personification of 'if I only invested in Tesla instead of CONSTANTLY ragging on Tesla. I lost count...Noticed he doesn't even reply to you anymore though eh. There's only so many times you can regurgitate the same tired lines that people just plain give up. Speaking of, yeah this is where I bow out. Have fun with your cohabitation miserable chums.
Well first, thank you very much for proving my point in your very first response. I listed some concerns or issues with your beloved Tesla BEV, and all you can muster is name calling, "Honda Civic guy" is back LOL. OK, you must have me confused with someone else but I''ll take it cause it's all you got. Maybe, just maybe, be a grown up and try to discuss what I posted, it is all fact. Or call your boyfriend lampsahde to bail you out if you are in over your head. He doesn't respond because he has been "debunked" and can't argue facts.

Second, I get a kick out of people like you. You announce your departure, "his is where I bow out" but then the very next post is by.....wait for it...... YOU!!! How many times have you quit twitter? LMMFAO

OK, upper middle class, ROFL LMMFAO, keep it up, this is entertaining. Or is it time for your room mate to use the computer

Non of this is true.

You can charge the vehicles in cold weather. I've seen lots of EVs out on the road over the last week. EVs can charge at home and preheat. Gas cars have to go to the gas station to fill up and you can't preheat it without it being outside. EVs can preheat in the garage.

If you leave your EV parked outside for hours and then try to charge it immediately, then yes it will take some energy to charge to warm the battery before charging.

IPA lives in the bay area, in a 2 bedroom apartment with 5 other roommates .

He went from driving a jeep to a model 3 ROFL.

Probably paycheck to paycheck, but hey it's the internet, you can be anything you want to be.
LOL, that's amazing! That's the canon I'm going with.
