The Acer 5 refurb on eBay would be better than the surface 3. The i3 and 8gb max is going to be tough in the long run.

But can you share a link to the Acer deal? I didn't see that. Is it similar price range? Hard to beat $340 for the build quality of the Surface 3. And i5 and 8GB Ram is plenty for my uses. But if better specs for similar price range, I'm all ears!

I bought this last year with a smaller drive. Added memory and obviously took it out of s mode. It's very snappy and meets my needs and then some. Even if you only use it for a few years, that's still only $100 or less per year. Very affordable.
