Lenovo Direct has sold out of many of their better priced Yoga 7i's. But Bestbuy has one that is better, in my opinion, than this one for $799, with the exception of the video card. Though the Intel Arc has not been truly tested yet.

Best Buy also has the same Yoga 7i for $1,079 but is just another Shade of Grey. No one I know or at Best buy can find out the reason for the difference in base and sales prices between the two..

Personally, I like having a key pad on my laptop, and with touch screen, 2-1 functionality, and a 16" screen, it was an easy decision for me.
those are intel cpu though, compares to the 680m on 6800H, the graphic performance is day and night, 680m is on par with GTX 1650, and the intel cpu prob ran out of battery in 3 hours, 6800h can do 10+ hours while still have a iGPU double the performance of intel iris xe

Aren't 2-in-1s known for poor hinges? Most of them usually go out in 2 years. Is it different with this one?
I have not heard one thing about the hinges yet. I think generally they have addressed this issue at least with the major companies. The only one I heard stories about were the new Samsung 2 - 1's . Those I would not take as a gift.

Oddly I have read several complaints about the Yoga 9i's, which are supposed to be a better model. I realized that one cannot trust many top 10 lists or "independent" reviews. Even from established magazines. But I researched the daylights out of this one, and have yet to find anything to be concerned about.

On the issue of CPU's I cannot address. I have read good and bad about both sides. I am an accountant and also do some consulting. And with some of the proprietary software I use, they strongly recommend intel chips to avoid conflicts.

Proprietary as in not accessible by the general public? Can you name the software in question if not confidential?

For home use, this is a fine and quite adequate laptop.

sure, if you are an accountant or anyone does not require the performance of iGPU and you dont care about battery life, go with intel cpu.

Is this one of the cheapest laptops ever that has 32gb ram? Don't recall any laptop that cost this little 32gb ram preconfigured. But since it is soldered, it isn't as fast as a regular laptop with regular 32gb ram?

Also the processor is very similar in speed but a bit slower than the i7-12700h right? However, isn't the graphics card not as good as the intel iris xe?

Also someone mentioned the battery charger is 100w. Why did someone say that is too high and want it to be 75w? Dell xps uses the 130w charger so why is the 100w charger considered a bit too much... am confused with this. Also battery when youtubing or web browsing? If you need a decent graphic card that is similar to the nvidia 3050, this is good or not? I am confused why this laptop cost so cheap with this processor but also with 32gb ram?

Sorry I did not express it well. Software companies outside of Microsoft office. Like a Professional tax prep product like CCH proseries, Intuit Lacerte, larger accounting software companies eg Sage… Additionally if one is going to interface with a companies systems and network, it is just safer to go with Intel.

the iGPU on this is at least double the performance compares to iris xe,

My Asus with the iris xe igpu (core i7) struggles with hi-res youtube and battery life is lacking. I'm hoping this will do better in both areas. Hopefully it'll arrive before the Asus return period expires end of Jan.

Just bought one with upgraded CPU and RAM. Also added Win11 Pro, mainly for remote desktop host, AD login, and HyperV. I hope this 8-core 6800H will work better with virtualization. Intel's P and E cores (Core i7 Alder Lake) seem to not play well with VMs (VMware Workstation). Reports indicate the 6800H is also more power efficient than the i7-12700H under 45 watts. The 680M iGPU is also a step up from the Iris xe. I hate that memory is soldered and maxed out at 32GB but the saving grace is that it's DDR5. Theoretically faster than DDR4, right?

I'll put it to the tests for sure. Jan 19 can't come soon enough but hopefully sooner!

My Yoga is 4 years old. Not a hint of a problem with any hinge.

Maybe unrelated, but Hyper V and Vmware used to not play nice both installed, so you might need to disable one or the other.

alot of people are having trouble with windows 11 and virtual machines.. Alot of it has had to do with PC needing to meet the TPM 2.0 and secure boot requirements. If the machine meets requirements there are alot tuts out there to help with enabling tpm 2.0 and secure boot
