I'd pay 2x that price if they made it a left blade... for right-handed users.

Imagine getting to keep the saw on your right side, using just your right hand to rip any size strip of plywood.

How these companies STILL haven't made this realization is baffling.

Good enough, doesn't mean it's good.

Is the cord on the Kreg the dealbreaker for you? Or the $300 price? Or is it just the principle?

The Kreg saw being a Kreg saw is the deal breaker. Lol.

I was stoked when they announced it, but the saw had major flaws. Including the biggest one, a spindle that was never accurately 90° . So the blade would be off 1-2 degrees (the direction varied from saw to saw) so you could bever have a 90° cut. I bought one, then swapped it out, and it had the same problem. Went into the Woodcraft, and we went through every saw they had, and they all had the same issue. So if you did deeper cuts, the blade would still pinch, and it could get dangerous. The riving knife was moot.

In the end, it's a $300 WEN. It's Kregs only "Power Tool". And its not like Kreg is known for its quality in materials... so I guess it is to be expected.

What gets me is the amount they've sold. Companies like Makita and Festool would've had those sales if they made a left blade. I mean no one is like "I want a Kreg Track saw because it's Kreg!" Lol. They bought it due to the left blade. (Or they bought it because they were new to woodworking and a Youtuber that was sponsored by Kreg, told them how awesome it was. I bought it out of desperation. Lol. )

I used to be a lefty, but lost use of left arm/leg to a viral reaction. But as a lefty, we (very few) lefties would joke and laugh about righties using right blade track saws.

I have my (functioning) fingers on the pulse of track saws, and there's no left blades even being considered by tool companies...

My latest responses are:
Festool: "We are going to put a restraining order on you sir!"

Makita: "Did Festool make one?"

Bosch: "Is that a type of dishwasher?"

DeWalt: "I'm certain we already make one."

Milwaukee: "Did Festool, Makita, Bosch, or Dewalt make one? If so, we will make one, but it will release 20 years after they make theirs."

Panasonic: "You're a funny American!"

Metabo/Hikoki: "We don't have that factory."

Harbor Freight: "Are you opposed to using duct tape if needed?"

Lol, sorry. Staying in bed today, so I went above and beyond my normal length Novella.

TL;DR ◇ Kreg is a Kreg. It's a deathtrap.

This is not that great a deal. No guide rails or extra batteries are included. Plan on at least an additional $50 for the 39-inch, $100 for the 55-inch, and $200 for the 118-inch guide rails.

Are you speaking about cutting off little bits from a sheet of plywood? What do you do when you are breaking down a sheet into 16-inch, 24-inch or 48-inch wide pieces? Do you use any supports?

He is just a moron who thinks he has some brilliant idea, don't mind him. There is no reason the blade needs to be on the left side.

Lots of opinions in here! I have the corded version and love it. It's much more convenient, and for most people safer, than the table saw for cutting down full sized sheet goods. It's also great for cutting 2" tabletops that are too heavy to easily move around.

I don't really understand the desire for a battery version. It's less powerful and more expensive. If you're using a dust extractor or shop vac it makes even less sense to be cord averse. Where is this job site that doesn't have power, a generator, or a truck with an inverter that's also easy to bring sheet goods and piles of batteries, that you apparently cannot charge onsite, to?

If you do get one, it fits the Festool tracks perfectly. The adaptor for the Bosch router guide perfectly mates this to the Rigid orange hose end. If you flip around the inner arbor nut, you can use any standard arbor blades.

Why would I i buy a $500 saw to do the same thing I can do with $150 saw and a $10 chalk box?? These saws are ludicrous in price.

I guess you could just not buy this. There's a lot of tools out there for different use cases and not every one of them may fit your needs.

The Bosch FSN OFA? The guide doesn't have a dust port so I'm not sure which adapter. Thanks!

You convinced me to finally open the corded version I got on Black Friday (with 55" track for $350). I was getting anxiety about the cord. What sizes of track did you get?
