I'm leaning towards powerblock instead of selecttech. Any great deals on powerblocks right now?

Why not just buy it and get a price adjustment if it goes down

My closest warehouse had them at $400 last I checked, and they're pretty shit about markdowns at San Dimas. Really wish they'd get the heavier set Bowflex makes, less likely to plateau within the year.

I love all those who told people to splurge on equipment during that pandemic because weights don't go down in price. Nice to see these more around reality. Hope the same can happen for PowerBlock.

Be aware of these things. They have issues with the adjustor's being made of plastic and breaking over time. A friend had a plate fall off and hit him in the head. Google Average Joe Industries for metal replacement parts. (I own Powerblocks)

I always suspected that if some part in the dumbbells broke o malfunctioned it could cause a serious accident. Seems solid dumbbells are a safer bet !

I've had my 1090s for 12y now and nothing has ever happened.

I bought a set probably 12 years ago. The first pair bowflex sent was defective like your friend the plates would just fall off. Called and a new set was sent immediately and have lasted until today and still going.

I have the 1090s also - since 2013 - and use them nearly weekly. I'm not rough with them, never dropped one, and have never had any issues. Btw, bowflex is selling the 1090s for $600. Though a stand is not included, it's an incredible price. 552s are great, but you may find yourself wanting more weight over time.

I grabbed a set on Monday. Has anyone been in store and seen the price of the 5.1 bench? For some reason I have a memory of it being $199, but I'm not positive. Figured I'd ask here before driving back.
