I never liked how Loctite uses a red bottle for blue medium strength.

It's a good price for a small quantity, but I still recommend this one.

It's cheaper per oz. and the ease of closing the container with one hand makes it worth it when you are under a car.

Permatex and Loctite perform almost identically under real world testing as you can watch on Project Farm and other YouTube testing videos.

I'm sure it does, but it lasts several years in my experience. Always shake the bottle before use. Ideally it would probably be kept inside in the air conditioning, but mine is out in the garage in harsh weather and it still lasts years.

I don't like that part either, but Loctite is a better value than Permatex currently, so that's what I'm using.

I've had bottles last for many years, just don't transfer the liquid to a different bottle. The bottles are specifically designed to be breathable to an extent. Once the liquid gets into an anaerobic environment, it starts to solidify.

Ever since that Loctite "instant construction adhesive" (which I'm pretty sure was actually cake frosting), I don't buy any Loctite brand stuff any more.

I have used various types of Permatex, including threadlock and car door gasket glue, and found it to be at least as good. Although I haven't tried Permatex cake frosting.

Is there a trick where you put 20 dried bottles of these into a magic bullet, add some nitric acid or something, and make the glue reusable?

Does anyone actually subscribe to get this stuff delivered on a regular basis? Who needs thread locker that often?

I really like the gel, not runny and works upside down in tight areas. Also can put it on the end of a screwdriver to apply easily:

To be fair, it is a very small bottle. So, if you do a lot of auto work at home, I guess it wouldn't be completely crazy to have this on a 6 month interval. To me, though, the issue is less about how many people need this much thread locker... but who just sets up future thread locker orders on Amazon - price unknown. You can buy something dirt cheap on Amazon Sub & Save one day, and then 6 months later the price is 2x or 3x more.

I was able to get 4 for about $8 with $3 digital credit. If I decide to return 3 of them it's like getting one for free. Smilie
