YMMV and depends on how good your local dealer is willing to work with you. The response I have from mine is to wait till Jan 1 to get a quote and the OTD. Some of the rebates mentioned in the link are valid till Jan 3. So the above price is achievable if you take delivery between Jan 1 and Jan 3. Please post any responses that you receive from your local dealers here. At 18k this is a screaming deal. Hope folks are able to pull this off.

i have a 2020 bolt and its been a great car. i only have 20k miles on it but haven't had any problems. its fast and fun to drive. i looked into trading into a 2023 and everything i see says you will only get a 3750 tax credit, there is also the income cap. also the chances of you finding a base bolt with nothing added will be nearly impossible. the bolt is without a doubt the lowest priced ev on the market right now, especially for what it has for range. if you are looking for an ev, you owe it to yourself to at least take a test drive. as a ev owner i should mention their negatives. i would never travel in one, up to 50 percent loss in range in cold weather, higher taxes and plates, additional tax for loss in gas tax revenue, higher insurance, many charging stations are extremely high in price, i probably would not buy another ev if it wasnt for the fact that i have solar and it produces probably 90percent of the electricity i need to power it. just my 2 cents

It's kind of pointless comparing.. it's almost a waste. the RX gets relatively horrible miles per fuel cost.. 31/28 city highway..

meanwhile EV's will get at least 120 EMPG That's like paying 4 times the price of gas by driving a gas vehicle when you can drive electric for 1/4 the cost..

it might be even better/worse than that.. depending on what you pay for electricity. I wish my volt had 100 mile range but oh well.. I got it dirt cheap.
I realize the drawbacks of gas vehicles. Style, comfort, reliability, and safety are my top priorities. Currently own an RX and an NX. Closest thing to an EV in the current Lexus lineup is a hybrid. When the RZ is released next year, I may take a look at it.

Depending on your use case 120V charging is plenty. We have a 2017 Bolt and still get by fine on 120. It's my wife's car, gets maybe 15 miles of usage a day and she plugs it in every few days to top it off.
What you are doing is probably not optimal.
Typically you will have more electric losses when L1 charging when compared to L2.
In addition to that, car needs to keep electronics awake when charging, thus longer charging times when slow-charging will waste more electricity to add same amount of energy to battery. This is pretty significant for Tesla as the main computer is power hungry. May not be the case for Bolt...

LF an EV this year as it'll be the only year I'll qualify for the tax rebate. If I'm not mistaken this isn't it. Having some difficulty finding one that I can take possession of before the end of the year. If anybody has any advice it'd be much appreciated. Ty.

I bought a 1LT in November for MSRP - $2,500 (state) - $2,000 (Uber) - $500 (Costco). Excellent value.

I am not sure that high income earners who pay $7,500 or more in Federal income tax would be shopping for the Bolt though with many more luxurious offering available. I would love to see a RWD and AWD variants for sure as the car puts out so much front end torque.

I always see bolts charging at DC stations, be wary they don't "fast charge" immediately. Sometimes they have to be connected for 10 mins just to condition batter

I'm not taking that bait. It was supposed to be a joke, maybe lighten up a bit?

Corporations exist to make money. That's literally their purpose.
Obviously. But making profit and maximizing profits by price gouging are two different things. Additionally, what value does a car dealership provide that I can't get from direct to consumer? It's an outdated business model that should be abolished.

You had an electric car and didn't think how to upgrade to a 240V over charging through a 15amp to make life easier? This has fake news all over the comment.
My friend has model 3 and just 110 volt charging. Sounded pretty insane to me. He said he just gets it charging every time he goes shopping to local Majers

1) This vehicle is listed as one to avoid by serval magazines for issues (and they're electrical related).
2) The whole auto market is imploding... unless you *need* a car, wait by late spring, the good ol days of rebates and cheap financing will be back.

Inventory is already piling up, and used cars have crashed on the wholesale market 22% in the past couple of months, the trend will continue.
