I have a lot of wrenches and pliers from this brand but this is the only style of adjustment that I would not recommend buying.
These are still better than many other brands but I have better styles that offer finer resolution of adjustment than these that you can get for the same price on sale.
Simply put don't get these, get the push button style.

As a guy that has used the alligator style for 7 years and occasionally the cobras for home/side use, I find the alligator style to be easier to use and adjust one handed than the cobras. I'm not trying to put you down and maybe for certain trades the cobra style makes sense, but for electrical/plumbing the alligators are awesome. I gave both a fair shot at work and the cobras are thrown in the side job bag. The cobra's are cool, but there's too many adjustable slots for my liking and these alligator pliers are just what I like. These mimic the traditional groove joint plier that have been successful for so many years, maybe I was so used to using channellocks and that's why these are my preference.

I can see your point.
I am plumber and I prefer being able to dial in the jaws in more precisely.

From youtube research, I've heard alligators maybe better for outdoors if you work in dirty muddy environments since the mechanism is easier to clean off than a push button. I'm a diy indoors so cobras for me but ultimately its up to you if you like slip joint style adjustment or pushbutton.
