I second this!
Also $600 without accounting for future inflation is effectively a meaningless arbitrary number that might as well be $0.
If you consider those tax evaders, you might want to see if your tongue is black from all the government boots you've licked.
There is still a $20,000 threshold for people running serious businesses online.
Yea, a lot of gig workers would use Venmo as one of the options to make business and receive payments. So, yes, potentially people could cheat if it they don't report it. A lot of people do the right thing, but some would feel better than the rest and avoid tax payments.
Still not millionaires and billionaires, nor does it explain a $600 report threshold as opposed to say $60,000 or even $20,000 which it's always been.
The IRS announced it won't require platforms such as Paypal and Venmo to issue a tax when a user's business transfers exceed $600.
The pre-2022 threshold of 200-plus transactions worth an aggregate above $20,000 remains in place for now.
How do those boots taste?

Keep in mind that they just delayed it by a year. Dems want to increase the reporting amount threshold from $600 to $5000 (so generous of the so called 'peoples party'). The repubs want to increase it back to the original amount of $20,000.
Nickle and Diming the masses is turning into a national pass time for these Washington clowns.
Edit - Fixed broken english, spelling and grammer. Either SD is acting up or I am too drunk.
Last year I sold over 25,000 gross with a loss of 10,000$ lol. Review tech I pay for myself as a hobby and I lose my butt. But yet I will be taxed on gross on eBay 😂
Exactly
That only applied to people who's trying to sell items to make profit. Obviously he's not trying to buy a coffee table and sell it for profit. So the rule doesn't apply here.
