50% off seems kind of low....
Very low. They can keep it
Hoarders will start hoarding everything before the 75% off

Lowes and HD around here have nothing left. It's been like that for a while. Not sure if they kept generally lower stock or if people were doing some big buying this year.

Yeah I wouldn't wait if you want stuff. Lowes corporate started marking down stuff in their stores 75% on Tuesday of last week 12/20. Just before that I went on Sunday 12/18 when it was 50%, and it was wiped out. Only few GE lights, a couple of blow up and light up lawn decor. They had some cheap quality wreaths and garlands left. People were buying the displays that were left. I talked to the store manager here in SW OH, and he said Lowes got far less Christmas stuff than they had in the past and customers had been complaining. Last year was pretty bad too before Christmas, but seems worse this year for sure. All the Lowes stores in my area are like this. Nothing left but the cheap junk and even that's sparse.

HD stores are in similar boat. Those that find anything now are likely rural stores or in a unique market. Sam's and Costco cleared out their stuff early last week, in fact they did a massive and final clearance drop on morning of 12/19 and it was gone by the afternoon. They had a TON of stuff. Manager said corporate got wise this year and started clearing out well before Christmas so people could get it and use this year. I remember seeing Clearance on holiday decor clear back the week of 12/4, albeit mild clearance %.

Anyways, hope this helps, at least others for next year. Sweet spot seems to be week prior to Christmas and you need to go every day. Set a reminder on your phone. I did that last year since it was wiped out last year before Christmas at Lowes like I said and it paid off really well this year! I got a ton of great stuff!

Selling things at a discount before the season is over isn't a new concept that would have taken this long for to figure out.
Not the concept, it's the deep discounts, 50-75%+. That's the difference and we all know those typically happened right after Christmas by and large.

Does home depot offer 75% Off? If yes, when does that start?
They do. In fact most retailers do. Unless you really want a certain thing, I'd wait. I've gotten trees, lights, ornaments etc all at 75% off. There's no point getting it at 50% unless you are very particular about what you want.

I bought the $89.50 version 2 years ago. For the extra $40, you get more tips (realistic look), the base is a bit larger, and the remote. Both versions do have a pedal to change the light patterns.

I leave the remote in a convenient place so my kids can change the pattern. Rather not have them reach in for the pedal.

This year, I bought the $89.50 version for my brother as a gift. Compared to mine 2 years ago, it has more tips and more lights (400 vs 550).

The manufacturer has a 3-year warranty. If you have a Costco Citi Visa, might as well use it to get the extended warranty benefits. It's a good practice to keep your receipt with the warranty verbiage (found in description).

I think people are going HAM on the decor buying this year. For both Halloween and Christmas, most local Target, Lowes, and HD had barebones shelves before the deep discounts even started.

I always buy my Christmas stuff for next year at the end of the season when it's clearance out. Have for last 20 years. I can tell from my experience that 75% is almost impossible anymore for airblowns or outdoor stuff. Lights no problem trees no problem but if you want anything for your yard you really need to get it 50% off. My home depot has had 50% off now for a week. I went Christmas eve. They had things for the yard but 2 or 3 boxes at most. If it ever did go 75% off sure workers are calling people to come get it as it's so limited or you have that group of people that go every morning until it's 75% off. My lowes hasn't had anything for a week now and target yeah forget getting anything there.

All that being said I live near a Ace Hardware now. Do they ever clearance their stuff or do they usually just put it away for next year so they don't carry much anyway?

That's mainly due to them being stocked and initially discounted early. Retailers trying to clear inventory and keep sales going before the recession likely kicks up. I've seen some Easter stuff already out.

The real deal here would be to convert to Russian Orthodoxy so you'd have Christmas in January and thus be able to buy all Christmas stuff on deep discount. But then you'd have to Russians not being popular right now due to the war atrocities in Ukraine.
