I almost flipped, because I just pulled the trigger on Lenovo Legion 5. and this looked like a better deal... but the only difference is 64GBDDR4 vs 16GB DDR5 in Lenovo ... for $200 more. I recon that's awash-ish?

I'm not familiar with that use of the term, but 4x RAM seems like a big deal if you're doing anything demanding. Aesthetics, upgradability and maybe airflow are another matter.

The legion 5 has better cooling than this. This actually looks just like the omen 25L which many report overheating. Also, not really sure why they even bothered with 64gb ram. That gpu would struggle before the ram does.

What am I missing here? This doesn't seem very slick, 64 GB of ram is excessive, a physical hard drive, a 3070 paired with a power supply wattage below the recommended (600 watt in this desktop, but you would be best with 650+) Part this out and it very well may be sub $1100.

It does have an SSD as well if you missed it (and a sizeable one too). Don't overlook the K CPU in this too.

This is not the slickest deal for sure. But I see where it could make sense for someone who needs a high spec'ed workstation and wants one ready to go out of the box and not worry about RAM, graphics or SSD upgrades. (It would help if it had Windows 11 PRO, but it doesn't).

Appreciate all of the views expressed! The drop in cpu prices is great - especially if you have Microcenter combos with mb for about $350. With a few components I can salvage, if the 3070 ti drops abit more, then building a rig is spot on😎
