Just a PSA for those who don't already know. The KEF LS50 (including Metas) have been notoriously picky with the type of amplifier they are paired with. These speakers require high power as their impedence goes pretty high in the mid and low frequencies. They tend to sound thin and harsh if paired with cheap Class D amps from a receiver or cheaper amps in general that dont have the ability to provide high current on-demand.

Would highly recommend Class AB amps with these speakers to get the best out of them. Example: Rotel RB-1552 or RA-1572; Arcam SA20 or higher; Monolith 2x200watt amp or higher; McIntosh MC152 (have personal experience with this one and sounds amazing with the LS50s). Etc.

I'm a KEF fan but these speakers are not for everyone. You need a good amp + a good subwoofer. You'll be in for a disappointment if you don't do the pairing correctly. Previous comment did mention the amps, but i would skip the Rotel and Monolith. They r bright amps. Bright amp + bright speakers = ear bleed. Get warmer amps like Arcam SA20, Marantz 40n. And yes, big no-no to class D amps.

I don't want to get into a debate here but this is absolutely wrong advice. All amps sound the same given they have enough current and low floor noise and distortion. Class D has come a long way, you can easily get your hands on sota class D amps like Purifi for $800.

This deal is cracking though, have been very happy with my metas being drive by a 18 yr old receiver. To reach 90DB SPL at 1m distance, you only need 8W of power to drive these (just use any power calc). Don't let anyone try to sell you audiofool bs.
Would recommend getting a sub if its for a larger space.

Seems like many people here like to mix and match speakers and amps until they find a sound that they like rather than just getting neutral speakers and amps and learning to EQ to taste. One option is significantly cheaper and better…
Spot on. Folks need to focus on room correction and EQ using Dirac and REW instead of randomly matching amp distortion profiles.

I had exactly same unit on my bench for repair, and his original PS is POS.
Lol ok. Maybe email Dylan instead and don't trash his brand while spouting BS audiophile myths on a public forum.

Awesome deal for awesome speakers, provided you give them the power they deserve! Make sure you account for those costs as well.

I am running it with a Rogue Audio Sphinx V3 (Tubes and class D) and it sounds sublime! Easy to get this amp for not too much more than the speakers..

I'm referring to a VTV Purifi. Lol what class AB are you talking about that's better than the VTV Purifi for $1k? Even a $2500 class ab isn't close for SINAD with equivalent wattage.
Great, i'm sure the average consumer who is shopping for these looking at slickdeals knows your fringe one-off garage built brands like VTV or Buckeye. Not everyone is one audioscience review and AV forums looking out for this one-off things.

Don't forget to shell out about $300 for PS and it still will be looking DIY. Sure you can DIY ncore for a grand, but IF, if you have skills and can source boards for cheap.

A/B class never been about efficiency and you can make scramble eggs using heat from class A radiator
Exactly, lots of folks like to point at these fringe garage built DIY brands with no presence. Sure they might be good, but an average consumer isn't looking at DIY or scanning through forums to discover some amazing class D amp some guy built in a garage. The average consumer goes to best buy or their local AV dealer and is presented with mainstream brands.

Rogue audio is a great example of a well executed class-d amplifier. I believe it still uses the Hypex modules.

It's a commercial product with a lifetime warranty that anyone can buy. They are in the top 10 any ANY amps produced. In fact, there's not a single class AB in the top 20 amps reviewed. The Benchmark is the closest at half power and is $2500. Please be specific about which amps you're talking about that remotely compare.

I'll ask again, which AB amps are you taking about that are better than any of the Class Ds under $1,000 or even under $2,000?

Will a Denon X3500H receiver drive them well, or do I really need a seperate amp?

A 3500 will sound great with them. Make sure to turn off all power saving and dont select 4ohm in the menu.

I don't like to repeat myself. I hope you can look at the original post where I listed amps. If you take my recommendations out of context and think I meant them being better than any Class D, you either don't know how to read or just want an argument for heck of it

You obviously don't any clue about putting OEM board in DIY case and make profit from self-proclaimed gurus. What you have is Hypex Ncore NC502MP module with integrated noisy PS in Chinese made case. Guess where Hypex cut corners while making NC502MP? Exactly, PS.
I am not trashing entry level Hypex amps, but you have to be realistic about what you own.

"They are in the top 10 any ANY amps produced." Post this on any respectable audio forum and enjoy replies.

How do we feel about a Denon AVR X3300W powering these things? If I need more then the wireless versions seem more appealing.

Seems more like an industrial product if anything. Also lifetime warranty till the person can afford to sell these extremely low volume high cost products, so yea the whole lifetime warranty for small volume brands doesn't really mean anything.
"not a single class AB …" sure bud

Ok, dug up your post:

RA-1572 SINAD 76 (terrible)
Arcam SA20 SINAD 86 (mediocre)
Monolith 2x200watt cant find any measurements
McIntosh MC152 $5,500 (lol) SINAD 103 (excellent)

Except for the McIntosh any Hypex or Purifi amp SMOKES the amps you mention for price, output and performance with SINADs of 98-106 with 180Wx2@8ohm/340Wx2@4ohm

SINAD numbers are from this well respected repository:
