Would highly recommend Class AB amps with these speakers to get the best out of them. Example: Rotel RB-1552 or RA-1572; Arcam SA20 or higher; Monolith 2x200watt amp or higher; McIntosh MC152 (have personal experience with this one and sounds amazing with the LS50s). Etc.
This deal is cracking though, have been very happy with my metas being drive by a 18 yr old receiver. To reach 90DB SPL at 1m distance, you only need 8W of power to drive these (just use any power calc). Don't let anyone try to sell you audiofool bs.
Would recommend getting a sub if its for a larger space.

The Genelacs seem to garner universal praise, and have earned a Class A rating in Stereophile (The Metas also garnered a Class A rating).
It seems like the Genalecs will come in for less money if you consider the matching amp you'll need purchase to power the Metas.

Any thoughts on how the Genalecs compare?
The main reason I run passive is so I can use DIRAC and the parametric eqs and filters for sub integration in the minidsp, but the Genelec would be a very close second for me with their dsp options and phenomenal performance.

McIntosh is great, but expensive. Recording studios don't use 'em. This is a thread for $1100 speakers and you're spouting mythical audiophile trash.

You starting this pointless argument claiming your hypex amps are end all be all and produce the most accurate measurements. Why not sell those to movie and recording studios? Surely they care about measurements
