My ring devices have no option for local recording at all without a subscription, it's live view only and zero recording at all. Blink is slightly crippled for local recording. Most companies try and hide their local ability to drive subscriptions, Eufy seems to tout local recording most but now it seems that's just because they get your video regardless of if you pay. Used to want Eufy, now I will not touch them at all. Rare to see a company destroy their reputation so quickly.
Saw a few forum threads where people had issues and solved them with a setting or two they found they had wrong.

And obviously, Arlo doorbell doesn't support either MicroSD storage or even your local IP address (e.g. 192.168.1.x) recording so it's pretty much like either pay them $4/month for "basic" services or throw it in trash ! Luckily I had bought it from Costco so returned it after 1 year and got my $100 back refund, and will NEVER buy anything from Arlo again.
