FYI, this is the sale price literally every other month.

Costco swaps $150 off sales each month between Michelin and Bridgestone.

Inflation is insane. Got my last set at Costco in 2018 and it costs $300 more now for the same model.

Discount tire will match Costco call and get a quote from Costco and then call discount tire and ask to price match get the out the door tax price
But how do their warranties compare? Does costco include any kind of road hazard?

My Tires will be shipped to and installed at finder website works but when I put Zip Code it says something about credentials is it because I'm on VPN?
I saw the same on Safari. Using their app solved the problem.

price for tires (at least PS4s, GT3 fitment) really not that much better (~$50/set) than TIrerack.. and I'd have to go there to get them installed. Maybe good deal for some people but not for me.

For those of you posting about the benefits of Discount Tire versus Costco, I just went through the process and here is my experience with Discount Tire:

Pros:
-appointment within just a few days
-walk-ins OK (done in an hour - they were fast as expected)
-they match and BEAT (they charged me $725+tax for 4 CC2s) crazy cheap price

Cons:
-They have a call center that answers for the local number that you dial and they dont tell you its a call center
-They ordered the tire correctly but when I called to confirm the reservation, they said "you must have made the appointment with the call center; its not on here - for some reason the appointment isn't always scheduled properly with them; however, we take walk-ins!!
-While I was waiting in line on the day of install, I heard the CSR at the location tell the guy in front of me "you may have reached the call center - we dont see an appointment here" See above
-So how long will I wait if I do a walk-in? They give you very generic wait times bc they dont want to over commit but mine was done in an hour
-The call center said they also do nitrogen like Costco; they do not (false claim). When I walked out to see the car and didnt see the green cap, I went back in and asked - response was "we do not to do nitrogen"
-I am told by my mechanic that he has had a lot of issues with Discount Tires not seeling the tires properly and the tires having to be resealed from time to time. Ill have to check if there are any class actions on this bc it seems negligent.

A word about nitrogen (according to my mechanic). As it turns out, nitrogen is not as relevant to the normal consumer market as it is to the trucking industry. It is very expensive to use almost pure nitrogen on tires and doesnt benefit consumers as much as it does the trucking industry, Costco would have to charge a lot more than they do to give us the same level of nitrogen as the trucking industry. Costco apparently uses CO2 conversion and the nitrogen % is actually not anywhere near 100% (you really arent going to get the benefit that almost 100% of nitrogen would give you). Its a Costco gimmick! So while the Discount Tire promise of Nitrogen was false, it really didnt matter in the end. BTW, air contains about 78% nitrogen already. (Edit: contrary information provided here EnterTheWrinkle - https://www.reddit.com/r/Costco/c...eally_100/)

Theres a reason that Discount Tire is faster than Costco. Is the reason because they are just better and faster or is the reason bc they take shortcuts? If the reason is that they do a lousy job of seeling (prepping the surface, beading the wheel, using inferior black paste), then the Price Match and BEAT might not pay off in the end if I have to deal with the hassle of ether professionally having the tires resealed ($100) or having to have to constantly go back to Discount Tire to have the issue fixed. It may also be because they dont use anti corrosive paste like my mechanic does. I have no idea if its true or not, but my mechanic is pretty solid. Haven't really had a chance to research this but I hope that's not the reason why Discount Tire is more convenient and faster than Costco. I read other's comments in this thread and jumped the gun assuming that Discount Tire was reputable - be careful what you read on the Internet (that also applies to my commentary since this is only hearsay from my mechanic).

Here's what happens if the paste isnt anticorrosive:

Second discount tire - get tires you want from discount tire online, ship to your local discount tire store and schedule an appointment, you'll be out in an hour, advantage of discount tire is good price and they have a lot of guys installing it. Just calculate Costco replacement policy vs Discount tire certificates costs.

They don't do anything there except mount, balance, and rotate tires. Alignments will have to be done at another shop.

You can always put in an order online or to your local Costco store. And Costco can do the delivery to your local store in no time. I placed an order for tires not in stock last Monday, 26 Dec 2022, and got a call late afternoon on 27 Dec 2022 that the tires are in. Had them installed the following day and all is good.
My experience was different....I have been trying to order tires since November. These specific tires (Michelin - Latitude Tour HP, 255/50R19/XL, run flat) are consistently out of stock both online and in store for the past 2-3 months, Costco tire finder online doesn't give me any option to order. I went to local Costco couple of times and they said they can not order either. I was told that there is a nationwide inventory problem with some Michelin tires, yet other vendors seem to have them in stock somehow Confused

It looks like this sale has been extended until 2/26. Is that correct?

This is a first one for me. Not having a spare doesn't have anything to do about buying and installing 4 new tires to replace the old existing ones. Try going to the store again and I can already see them just doing exactly the same thing with other regular cars and SUV's.
Did they say it's because you have run flat tires? That would also net you not having a spare but the reasoning would be different.
