This is the Director's Edition, which is much better than the regular version available on the Xbox Game Pass. I'm glad I waited until now to play this game as I didn't want to play the original version.

Director's Cut was only free for a short while. It was apparently a mistake. Now the free game is the standard version, not the Director's Cut.

Everything on Epic was down for a while there, even their launcher. This seems like more than simple volume overload for a freebie. Wonder if someone was trying to take them down, using the giveaway as ripe timing. Kind of bizarre.

As others have repeatedly mentioned, Epic screwed up and the base game was intended to be free not the directors cut. It is now fixed on the site and I was able to get the base game free. The Director's cut is no longer free. OP needs to change the title post so people who skip reading the thread don't keep posting that they can't get the director's cut.
