This is insane! Who's paying $2200 for a 55inch TV?

Not the A2 or B2. The 77 C2 is this price. There is no reasoning that can possibly justify this. 🤷

This is 1st gen QD-OLED, that's why it's significantly more.

That's like questioning why a Porsche is more expensive than an Audi.

Even the 55" Samsung QD-OLED can be bought for just over a $1000 with an EDU discount. Granted the Samsung doesn't have Dolby Vision, but at almost double the price of the Samsung, this Sony is definitely not twice as good as the Samsung as they are both QD-OLED.

It's QD-OLED, which is the latest cutting edge panel technology in the market. Ferrari vs Toyota.

Have you looked in that thread? Half of them are talking about QC issues with Samsung.

Ive seen people over at AVS try to justify their purchase for months, bent panels, screens failing, buggy slow OS, they also roasted calibrators that tried to tell them that something is wrong with the CMS and yet they release picture settings like clockwork and even have versions for settings because it constantly needs improving, all while Samsung keeps sabotaging the picture with updates. A lot of people are also forgetting that Samsung launched the 55 at $2200 and kept discounting them to sell off stock.

That being said...yes the Sony's are priced a little too high imo but they were awarded best tv of the year and knew the AV community would salivate at the thought of them.

Yes I have read through that thread (I posted a link to it after all). I stand by my original statement.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

Why not let people decide which brands they want. And base the deal Ratings on how good of a sale it is. Sony costs more and this is a good deal for the top rated TV from a very reputable company Thumbs Up
