sketching/painting apps would be the most common usage for pressure sensitivity, variable line weights or brush strokes based on how hard you press, that kind of thing. if it's just going to be used as a finger replacement, any stylus will do the job. the way these charge is very dumb though, if you get this one, get a female-female lightning adapter to keep on it so you can use any lightning cable.

The Apple Pencils have pretty specific compatibilities. IE an IPad mini 6 works with a Gen2 pencil, and does not work with the Gen1.

So if you are buying this as a gift, you have to know exactly the model year of the ipad.

I have had hit or miss here. That is the ideal outcome, but I have also received items that were ripped open then returned. Missing items too.

all third party pencils lack pressure sensitivity. if that doesn't matter to you, the cheap ones work fine.
