Amazon.com: HDMI Switch Aluminum 4K 60Hz, JSAUX Bi-Directional HDMI Splitter 2 in 1 Out, 1 Input 2 Output HDMI Switcher 2 Ports, Manual Monitor Splitter 2 x 1/1 x 2 UHD 1080P 3D

Original Price:$12.98
Deal Price: $7.79
Code: ES8TXUTK

Mode 1: As a HDMI Switcher, connect two HDMI sources to one HDMI display
(e.g., a TV box and a PS4 connect to one display, just press the switch button to choose which sourse shows on display between TV box and PS4 )

Mode 2: As a HDMI Splitter, connect a HDMI source to two displays.(only one display can be displayed at a time)
(e.g., a PS4 connect to a display and a large screen. Switch the display when you play by yourself, and switch when you play with multiple players)

Note:

do not support Split screen. When you connect 1 HDMI host to 2 HDMI TVs or monitors, the HDMI Splitter cannot make the two display devices work at the same time, only one of them can be switched for display work.
If there is a 4K video requirement, it is recommended to use it with HDMI2.0 and above cables. If you are using an HDMI cable 1.4 is not enough for the resolution of 4K (4096 * 2160).
Do not connect long cables. It is recommended that the total length of cable is ≤5M to avoid signal loss during the transmission if you need to get 4K video connections .
If Your HDMI Device (like XBox one x, PS4 Pro) supports 4K@60hz, please set the resolution to 4K@60Hz to make this hdmi splitter work properly.

You just saved me missing this deal. It was 1 dollar more than the post but worth it still imo

edit: had to spend $2 more actually to get the 60hz
That extra $2 got you a 3.3 ft cable too which was also 40% off.

Am I wrong or is it always best to always use a self-powered HDMI switch (vs. one that relies upon power provided by the source device)? I believe that I read that somewhere and invested more in a self-powered HDMI switch as a result. I haven't read reviews of this particular device but I recall reading many negative reviews of switches like this one. It seemed logical to me to go with a self-powered version. Have had one for several years and it works flawlessly.

Apropos to the above, there are numerous negative reviews for this switch (initial malfunctions and short term failures) and I'm wondering if that's related to it not being self-powered and having to rely upon the connected source for power? Any thoughts, experiences would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Based upon the photo, it appears that the HDMI cable is hard wired to the device. That's a problem if the cable fails or if you need more length (which creates the need for an adapter and addl. cable).
Perhaps the photo is misleading and I'm wrong about this.

Not really expired. Price is just very slightly higher than it was originally (for the gray version, didn't check others). However, could also be a different model with a different resolution, etc. Basic description of this item on Amazon product page is incomplete.
