In case anyone else was curious for more comments.
"RGBW LED lights are often superior to RGB LED lights. The inclusion of a white LED chip improves light quality while also lowering energy usage and increasing lighting efficiency."
"In theory, RGB LEDs may produce white light by combining the fundamental red, green, and blue photons. However, the mixture contains color blending and diffusion, resulting in fictitious white light. This type of white light appears to be obscured by fog.
People will have an unpleasant visual experience due to the foggy light. RGBW LEDs, on the other hand, may create cleaner white light and lower saturation colored light, giving our eyes a more pleasant visual experience. Furthermore, due to the addition of white light LED, RGBW LED light can provide a larger spectrum of distinct color shadings hues and is more flexible in color mixing."

Maybe it makes a huge difference with other lights but it seems for Twinkly, the extra diode can be emulated good enough. The Twinkly bulbs have a matte diffused cover and will never get that shimmer you can get with incandescent glass bulbs that I think people are hoping to replicate.
"set the RGB value to FFC56D to match the W (no need to buy the RGB-W). (unfortunately you cannot just type in the RGB value)
The 600 RGB-W are a bit faster than the 600 RGB, but that is only important if you like very fast animations on your tree."
I've decided to wait until Costco has another sale on these even if it's just the RGB version.
Still a great deal though. TU. 👍

Here is a short string of RGB set to "white" next to another string of RGB set to #FFE589 "warm white".
Both are at 50% brightness so it doesn't blow out my camera.
Also, unless you already have Twinkly RGBs, you may be better off getting the RGB+W which costs just slightly more for the 600 count:

Their main downside is that you'll need to match them and RGB+W is harder to find on sale but they do look warmer than RGBs based on online reviews.

I also bought a tree from Costco with 600 twinkly lights. Don't remember if they are RGB or RGBW
