WEN 56200i 2000-Watt Gas Powered Portable Inverter Generator, CARB Compliant

Brand: WEN
Wattage: 1600 watts
Fuel Type: Gasoline
Item Weight: 48 Pounds
Output Wattage: 2000 Watts
Product Dimensions: 11"L x 18"W x 18"H

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...c0INT&th=1

Found this deal while looking at the Sportsman deal. Twice the output as the Sportsman, which covers anything that would plug into a standard 15 amp receptacle. It's a little quieter, but heavier and a little bigger. Almost as fuel efficient, and longer run time due to larger fuel capacity.

I have one and like it a lot. All of the generators I have used in this class seem to work about the same

Not a great price. Not horrible either, but for 1600running watts and gas only, $300 is the sweet spot/great price. $350 is okay, but if im paying more than $300 I want either 1800 running watts OR dual fuel.

Been in the market for one of these for a minute now. YMMV

Same here. They have the yellow brand name ones for refurbished for 225$ on eBay. If this one hits $275 I think I'll be in for my pellet stove

Paid 309 in the summer for the 1,700W model on eBay. That wasn't even a deal.

I bought mine in 2015 refurbished: https://wenproducts.com/collectio...oned-items

looks and works like new. I agree that this is not a great price, just an OK price. You can get the refurb for $322

Can't wait for these to continue getting smaller so I can eventually build my dream of a hybrid electric motorcycle. Motorcycles are pressed for space enough as it is, and you need roughly 3000W to maintain highway speeds with decent aerodynamics. This is far too large to strap down on my current electric motorcycle and would look ridiculous. I think a smaller more powerful generator will come long before (battery capacity)/(volume | weight) will double.

Why: more reliable, simpler and quicker repairs, upgradeability, self-reliance, unlimited fuel sources, quicker, more control

I'm not sure if this is some kind of joke or what LOL. (like the tesla idiots hauling around generators, b/c they know they're gonna get stranded).

If you want power and efficiency, then get a 2 stroke engine.

I wouldn't call someone an idiot for carrying a generator with an EV (when needed) unless they were also purporting they "drive electric to save the environment" or were the type to trade the car in within 5 years. An EV makes perfect sense as a commuter vehicle, and at current EV prices many may not have or even be able to rent a second ICE vehicle for the occasional road trip.

I never said I wanted power or efficiency, but electric motors are more efficient. A 4-stroke is also more efficient than a 2-stroke. 2-stroke engines are more failure prone and harder to repair than electric motors. You may be thinking of volume power density/volume specific power which they be higher in, or power-to-weight ratio (which is fairly even between them at a system level).

Yeah, exactly, 2 stroke is more efficient. You're not going to get your required power unless you're strapping a big 4 stroke to it...and the mpg increase is fairly negligible (or the same if computer controlled). A good 2 stroke is reliable, so that's a wash if you choose quality.
EV is pointless if you don't have the outright range.

I assume you're talking about a small bike as a cruiser size should have the space for a lot of range and a medium size would have a potent 4 stroke. That's why I mentioned 2 stroke.

You say "yeah, exactly" as if you agree with my statement, and then you say it's more efficient again like you didn't read any of it. A well-built Rube Goldberg device will run reliably, but there are still a million more moving parts wearing down. This depends on if you are suggesting a 2 stroke for the generator or whether it's for the motorcycle's powertrain itself.

2 stroke power plant. Fuel efficiency is irrelevant when we're talking about a small bike LOL. Fitting a powerful enough engine easily without ruining drive-ability is more important.

I can't tell if you are trolling or misunderstanding, but it seems all you are really saying is get a "2 stroke".

I'm not misunderstanding anything. You haven't clarified what class of bike. Are you talking like a small 250 that can't fit a larger engine without modification? If it's bigger than that, then I have no idea why you would want some low range EV crap.
