Asian supermarkets seem to be the cheapest for me, atleast in my area. Can get a 4 pack for $6.

Problem is, the kids and their families still have to eat. If you take away their child labor job, what are they going to do to make ends meet? Usually they turn to crime.

I remember hearing an economist talk about how a well-meaning Western charity helped put an end to child labor in some African community, and what happened was that the children turned to prostitution or stealing/pickpocketing to make ends meet.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

You can find butane cans in REI generally $2 per can.

yeah my local korean market had 4 pack of 8oz butane cans for $4.99
Edit; description says it uses 8.8oz cans, not sure if those are different than 8oz cans

Can in the photo shows 8oz so it should be fine.
P.S. For people who go cold weather camping, butane sucks under 40F.
