Just bought. Thanks for the post.

Edit: Just noticed delivery isn't until early February. We'll see how it goes.

Some folks have already confirmed receipt of the device. Based on the image of the box posted on reddit this includes the per-key backlight Cherry keyboard.

While you shouldn't ever pay anywhere close to Dell MSRP this configuration MSRP is $2139.99 from Dell: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/d...n7620fszzh

I cannot find any reviews for this particular configuration which makes sense because it is a mid-range gaming laptop and generally would not be configured with an i9/3070ti.

Overall build quality is low/mid range, only 1 slot for NVMe SSD, big and heavy, and mediocre cooling but the screen is decent and the specs are great for the price.

High end 2021 Legion7/5Pro and AW m15r4/5/6 with similar specs were frequently in the $1000-$1400 range the past 12+ months so this deal while good for current gen CPU/GPU is a notch or two below the high end gaming laptops for overall experience.

Can you link those 2021 laptops? I was unable to find something within this price range with same specs recently

It looks like it's been dipping in and out of stock, still - I just grabbed one about thirty minutes ago, with Amazon showing a delivery date of February 22nd-26th. Of course, now my dilemma is that I'd just bought a G15 from Dell Outlet (i.e. refurbished) back in July for ~$915, and while I thought it was a very solid deal, it only had a 11800h, 3060, 16GB of RAM, and a 1080p screen (though it was 360hz), making this new one a massively better deal in comparison, so if I go through with the order and keep this new one, I wonder how difficult it would be to sell the old one and recoup most of my losses. My only gripes with this new model is that it only has one M.2 slot and no number pad (and possibly no multicolor RGB keyboard), but the specs are so strong that I can live with that.

Oh, and thanks for posting! Just imagine how blissfully unaware I could've been with my current laptop if I hadn't seen this...

The PC market is so weird/stupid right now. You could barely buy a 3070ti alone for this price, let alone all the other stuff it comes with like screen, DDR5. WTF is going on.

Laptop sales are wayyyyyyy down for the 4th quarter. With inflation, and post-COVID, prices should be rising quite a bit. Instead, they have been either steady or even dropping. Could be a sign of an impending recession, but laptop sales are really sluggish - people aren't spending on laptops.

Those 2021 laptops have pretty much been cleared out. Most recently around BF Walmart had the 2021 Legion 5pro Ryzen7/3070/16GB/512GB combo for $1100. This retailer apparently still has stock of the 2021 L5pro Ryzen7/3070/16GB/1TB for $1300
https://slickdeals.net/f/16182577-legion-5-pro-16-qhd-165hz-ryzen-7-5800h-rtx-3070?v=1&src=SiteSearch

They also have the 2022 version with the 6800H/DDR5/PCIe 4.0/3070ti combo for $1400 which is worth the extra $100

Don't get me wrong though. This deal is pretty good. For me however I'd miss the extra NVMe slots and premium build quality, especially for something I'd considered keeping for several years. I purchased several L5pros, Legion 7s, m15r4s and m15r5s at the end of 2021 start of 2022 for $1200-$1300 after stacking coupons, cashbacks, cc cashbacks etc. My favorites are the Legion 7i and m15r4 because of the build quality and Thunderbolt that comes with the Intel versions. TB is very useful for multiple monitors (especially high res.) and cable clutter with a dock.
