just a heads up that this has JBL's first version of party mode, and not the newer version. that matters only if you're planning on pairing multiple speakers together.
the version on 2021+ JBL speakers is stupidly (and likely intentionally) not backwards compatible with the original.

You can, but the other speaker would also need to be an older JBL model with the original version of party mode.
Also note that the speakers are just mirroring one another; you're not getting actual "stereo" sound where one plays the left audio channel, and the other plays the right.

Any BT speaker recommendations (with good / comparable to this sound quality) that do play independent stereo channels when paired?

I have this speaker. It's really nice, puts out some good sound. Also, mirroring what the poster said earlier that this doesn't pair with the newer versions of the speakers (Xtreme 3, etc) because it has a different kind of pairing mode. If you plan on pairing this for any reason in the future, wait for a sale for the newer model. If not, this is a nice speaker and puts out some serious sound.

Make sure you download the JBL app so you can adjust the EQ. Otherwise it's quite boomy.

No wires, no worries.
Now, try these in a corner or open closet. Experiment; you might be really surprised.

Also what's with the cable in the 5th picture? It uses a barrel plug instead of usb c to charge??
