It's amazing how the prices of these things have come down over the last couple decades. I have a 4.5" Celestron telescope that I think cost around $400 (nearly $800 in today's dollars) new about 25 years ago. I guess they were kind of a niche thing back then that had to be purchased from specialty catalog companies. Now Amazon and everyone else sells them to all the kids who have grown up loving STEM.
