been looking for something to clean the air fryer/toaster oven with - I hope this will do the trick! I'm thinking run a few cycles before putting food in too.
Meh. You'll be tasting the fumes!

Get a steam cleaner. Just take it outside on a table with newspapers on top for the massive drips.

i've used easyoff on my airfryer several times with steel wool and a steam cleaner. the key is to do a final wipedown with soap and water, then i run it at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes. Comes out clean with nothing remaining. def recommend doing it outside. also normal maintenance of wiping down the walls of the airfryer after each use goes a long way to keep it clean

This Easy Off or the can spray?
I heard that the regular oven cleaner will stain the air fryer.

I recommend Castille soap for the grates and any cast iron/carbon steel pans.
I hate the taste of soap on my food. At least Castille soap are natural oils and peppermint.

Per the MSDS (material safety data sheet), this spray bottle contains "0.1-1%" sodium hydroxide (lye), whereas the old trusty Easy-Off 14.5 oz yellow aerosol can contains "1-5%" (a previous discontinued formulation had "2.5-5%"). I also noticed that many Easy-Off aerosols (blue and black cans) no longer use corrosive lye that can damage various materials and can be highly irritant/hazardous. Will see whether it is as strong as the old aerosol spray when I get a chance.

I fondly remember someone who sprayed Easy-Off on a heavily greased, (pre-varnished) wood kitchen cabinet in a rental apartment and irreversibly blackened it. We learned to use something less damaging afterwards, like ammonia and took our time scrubbing and wiping.

Magic eraser worked wonders on my brevile air fryer toaster oven. Looks brand new after using it. Was a tip from America's test kitchen for cleaning a toaster oven.

The yellow contains lye (sodium hydroxide), it is very strong and cuts through grease like nothing I've ever used. Yellow will strip the seasoning off a cast-iron pan.

The blue does not use lye and is not as effective but it is safer and isn't nearly as fumey.

If you have really really baked on gunk, the yellow is the best stuff I've found, but USE GLOVES and use as much ventilation as possible.
Thanks for the reply. That is true. I've tried the yellow Easy-off aerosol spray can before and it was too strong it even erased my oven brand logo.
