Not sure if there's any actual category for this, but thought I'd share. This week I received a non-specifically-addressed ("Head of Household") mailer from MRI Simmons, which contained a crisp $1 bill in it.
Normally I just take the bill (I've actually gotten a few mailers this year with crisp dollah bills in em, notably a couple from Nielsen - yes, that Nielsen) and shred the rest. This time, a little blurb caught my eye just before it went into the shredder: "Upon completing the survey, you will receive a $40 Amazon eGift Card code (via email) as a thank you for your cooperation."
Okay, color me intrigued. I mean, I was bored, let's give it a go. Fired up my VPN, went to the site, and spent about 15-20 minutes answering the survey (I assume it's partially procedurally-generated, so it wouldn't help to tell you what's in it - suffice it to say that it took that stated amount of time, asked nothing sensitive, allowed skipping through "rather not answer" types of questions, etc).
At the end, I provided one of my non-sensitve/personal email addresses and figured "well, that's that, if I get something then cool, if not oh well."
TLDR: Would you believe I
_DID_ get an emailed Amazon GC code for $40 within 10 minutes of completion? Which I, of course, promptly validated in Amazon, and it's legit.
Anyway - just a heads up if you get one of these MRI Simmons survey letters in the mail - if you can spare 20 mins, it's worth forty bucks.

"To begin the survey...
Please enter your ONLINE ID, which was provided in the letter or card you received."

Anyways, thanks OP, I gave you a TU and repped you.
So... This is considered a very good, reliable survey company. I couldn't find a sign up or registration link so I sent them an email asking to join and they added me.
If you'd like to be considered for future offers by them, I suggest doing the same if you're honestly interested.
Yes, it was tedious, but there are a lot of sections you can skip over if you essentially don't use certain product categories. I just filled it out as I putzed around with my days over a week. Mailed it back and got a legit, verified, $60 GC via email once they received the booklet back. All in all, that's $100 in Amazon GC for about a grand total of an hour's worth of "work" answering the initial online survey + the booklet. Not bad in my book.
So yes I'm now on a "target" list - no real privacy issue on my side since I used a non-personal email + alias name for this, and I receive the mailers at a mail-receiving service (again, under an alias name). For those that think that might be underhanded: I do answer the survey as "me" - meaning the products/services I use.
