Applied for a card for my wife anyway. So don't know if the coupon will be included.

BTW/ If you have a card and are applying for another adult family member you need to go to the bottom of the page and not sign in. Set up new account with different email address, phone number, SS number, and log on name.

Instant approval with credit freeze.
Why would anyone be applying for someone else? Feels invasive.

I could sign up under my name use promo and then add my son yes, BUT not going to bother because of the way funds need to be added. I've been looking for a simple solution to get him a card to use on school sports trips etc but this isn't it. I may just go to the local bank and tie one to his own account or do one of the other available cards for kids options. We need to be able to easily add funds, quickly if needed, and that cant be done with this it seems.

I got this with my credit card 4 months ago, then I applied for the reloadable and debit about a month ago and all of them came with the coupon. There's no specific order you have to use the coupon, just take a picture or write down the code. You can close the accounts right away and reapply in 6 months rinse and repeat.

Which are you applying for?
reloadable. I already have red debit, but I'm assuming reloadable is being handled by a different bank or something behind the scenes otherwise i should be approved as I'm an existing customer.

Yeah same here when it comes to reloadable, applied with credit file frozen and with such freeze lifed (in case they it was blocking a soft inquiry)

not sure what criteria they are using, I can't apply for their debit card because I have had it in the past 30 days

The rule is a lot longer than 30 days. Do some research before posting misinformation.

Did I say at any point 30 days is the timeframe to wait before reapplying for this card? I only mentioned my account being opened at some point during the past 30 days, which yes it still means I can't apply for this card yet even if it's 90 days
Maybe you should practice your reading comprehensions skills before you start accusing people purely based on misconceptions

Why are people opening a credit card, dinging their credit, and risking racking up another massive interest honey pot for another megacorp…for $40?

Do people realize at say 30% interest they'll owe that $40 back on even a meager $1000 balance in like 6 weeks lol?

Do people ever stop and ask, huh, why are they giving me free stuff to open this credit card today…why are they so interested in me charging this to their line of credit today?

Some things people do, make absolutely zero sense…they know that…and exploit the masses.
Interest? Even if we were talking about the credit card why do people seem to get this idea you need to be paying interest the moment you use a credit card?

The key is using your card as if it was a debit card, paying your balance in full (every week if possible) and not buying things you can't afford simply because it's a credit card. Just because you're approved for a 5K credit line doesn't mean you need to spend it all

Looks like the bank backing this is Pathward. Found a recent data breach for them/their affiliate. Google "pathward national association breach" I'm going to pass on this deal because of the SSN requirement.
