Great price, but the Pro+ has an improved battery door for only ten dollars or so more, at the moment. If I needed a HRM, I'd go for that option: https://a.co/5VeDj8J

Great HRM (I have it and use it almost every day) but @jasonweaver is 100% correct - get the pro+ for the better battery replacement design.

Thanks for the comments about the Pro model... I went ahead and paid extra for the upgrade. Great price either way!

BTW - all Garmin chest straps (I'm on my 4th now) seem to faIl within 1-2 years of "regular" use. The sensor contacts peel away from the strap itself.

I have an HRM-Dual that came with my Edge 530 for cycling. Is there any huge improvements that other cyclists recommend for upgrading to the Pro / Pro+?

How would this compare with Polar H10, pros/cons?

If you're using it with a Garmin watch, this one will give you a ton of additional running dynamics data that the Polar doesn't have.

If you don't care about or can't use the data though, a lot of people seem to prefer the comfort and durability of the Polar over this.

Can you point out specific data, I can't seem to find them?

I'm having a hard time finding a listing online too but I use the Running Dynamics Pod which gives you the same data and it's:

* Cadence (average & max)
* Stride length
* Vertical ratio
* Vertical oscillation
* Ground contact balance (% left vs right)
* Ground contact time

Also on-sale for near all-time low is the Garmin HRM-Dual Heart Rate Monitor https://a.co/d/eQovA3d

This one doesn't have the advanced running metrics, but is perfect for zwift/trainer.

I actually just went through the process of picking one of the three Garmin HRM straps. I like the Pro Plus the best - new battery cover design and all the running metrics. I almost got the Pro for the running metrics, but couldn't justify spending double the money just for the metrics.

I ended up getting the HRM-Dual for $46. It paired perfectly with my Garmin Fenix and with the treadmill at the gym. Also, the HRM Dual is less disposable than the HRM Pro and HRM Pro Plus because the HRM Dual has a replaceable strap - you can take the sensor off the strap. Can't do that with the Pro and Pro Plus.

For anyone wondering pro vs pro plus https://youtu.be/k0ql3sI0jdc gives you details. In nutshell seems the biggest change is battery replacement. Pro is getting the software update so both will be the same. Also, if you don't have garmin watch this might not be worth for you.

I have been using hrm pro almost daily for more than a half year, it is good. The only complaint is it hurts my right side under the armpit and the chest if I don't wear it with care, otherwise I love it. The $14 difference between the two models is reasonable, the screws on the pro model rusts over time, the screw-in front cover on thr plus model makes it super easy to keep the sealing ring in place. You can get the pro plus if you like less potential troubles.

Does this store data and you can download it to an app like polar or do you need it with a watch

Less than a year for me, every day use, still works but only a matter of time now, do love these though, but straps could be a lot better
