I have the 7x and use it for my PC, Switch and PS5. This is literally the most comfortable headset I have ever had even with glasses on. I don't get the pain on the sides of my head with glasses on compared to the other headsets I have had before (Astros, HyperX).

Plug them into a PC, setup your EQ settings to your taste in the Engine software, then plug them back into your Xbox.

2nd this. In my experience, their go-to response is to RMA something after running you through 15 back-and-forth troubleshooting ideas you've already tried. Doesn't matter what the issue is. For example, the 7X+ manual and online documentation say the chatmix wheel should work on PC, but after several rounds of testing I found that it only works on Xbox. CSR gave the standard troubleshooting steps then tried to RMA. An RMA won't fix a hardware limitation. After telling him the wheel works on Xbox but not on any of 3 PCs, he said oh yeah I just checked with a product specialist and can confirm the wheel only works on console. Yet the documentation in the box and online says otherwise.

TL;DR don't buy directly from Steelseries. Get it from a retailer with better customer service options.

Bought the 7x a month ago (same price then too) for my Xbox and agree. I was actually surprised at how comfortable they were with glasses on and my helix piercing. My old headset (Plantronics Rig 800s) would start to hurt not too long after putting them on. Definitely recommended for glasses wearers.
Headset quality is good. Sound is good for gaming (main use has been MWII so far).

This or the Microsoft wireless headset? I am a little disappointed in the hyperX Cloud I picked up.

I just got the Microsoft wireless headset and I like it quite a bit from the 30 minutes I've used it so far lol.

I bought the 20% off Costco Xbox gift card deal and use that to buy the headset from microsoft.com for $80+tax.

Oh good call on the gift card. I bought one for my dad for Christmas but haven't tried it yet. The hyperX I bought work well but can't hear footsteps as much as I would like in MWII. I tried my sons G435 and honestly much better at footsteps and a bit more bass. Those aren't even supposed to be very good headphones.
