I have the 7x and use it for my PC, Switch and PS5. This is literally the most comfortable headset I have ever had even with glasses on. I don't get the pain on the sides of my head with glasses on compared to the other headsets I have had before (Astros, HyperX).
Plug them into a PC, setup your EQ settings to your taste in the Engine software, then plug them back into your Xbox.
2nd this. In my experience, their go-to response is to RMA something after running you through 15 back-and-forth troubleshooting ideas you've already tried. Doesn't matter what the issue is. For example, the 7X+ manual and online documentation say the chatmix wheel should work on PC, but after several rounds of testing I found that it only works on Xbox. CSR gave the standard troubleshooting steps then tried to RMA. An RMA won't fix a hardware limitation. After telling him the wheel works on Xbox but not on any of 3 PCs, he said oh yeah I just checked with a product specialist and can confirm the wheel only works on console. Yet the documentation in the box and online says otherwise.

TL;DR don't buy directly from Steelseries. Get it from a retailer with better customer service options.

My wife just got a work from home job, how's the mic? Would these be good for that?

Good product unltil you ask for customer support. They don't even listen to what you have to say and give generic responses until you contact your credit card company and file a complaint. Never will I do business with this company again.

I assume you are referring to these steel series to be able to do that.

Yes. You can save one EQ profile to the headset and it carries over onto console. Each game uses a different Hz range for footsteps, so look up what it is for the one you play the most if you want to prioritize hearing them.

The mic is fine. Retractable. These are probably overkill for Teams meetings as they have features that aren't useful (like audio sharing).

If you're looking to spend $100 then I would get a Jabra headset for telemeetings instead. Those are lighter, also wireless, have a dedicated button for telemeetings and have bluetooth capabilities (meaning that you can use the same headset to dial in with your phone if your internet/VPN connection goes wonky). Also, the Jabra dongle fits into a standard USB slot. The 7P+ dongle requires a USB-C slot or the included USB-slot adapter cable.

The 7P is designed as an over-the-ear gaming headset. I prefer on-the-ear for meetings.

I totally agree. I'd only buy their product if it was through Walmart, Amazon, etc. Their customer support is that atrocious. Even then, the deal would have to be a lot better than this to make me buy their product ever again.

I'm annoyed that I have to choose between which I should buy since I have Switch, Series S and PS4 and want to use it on all…😡

Edit: The page says it works on all of them??

Also: has anyone tried code newyear20?

Thanks for this reply - I had same question and already have a Jabra Elite 45h but with glasses it gets uncomfortable being on-the-ear and their over-ear version is like $500.

This or the Microsoft wireless headset? I am a little disappointed in the hyperX Cloud I picked up.
I have the Microsoft Wireless headset. I love the design (big, physical knobs to turn) and attached to my Xbox they work well. They straight up do not work on PC via Bluetooth, they constantly lose connection and there is a delay. Even with the Microsoft Wireless Receiver they lose connection sometimes but it is much less frequently.
