Because these do not have an IR sensor like non-contact thermometers, or that 1 rare Casio watch that did, it's impossible to accurately measure the ambient temperature when wearing the watch.
Instead, you have to stop, take off the watch, hang it up, wait a quarter of a hour+ until it stabilizes to ambient, then measure the temperature.
Anyways, for even more features and ruggedness at the same price range, used ProTreks....but none will accurately measure the ambient temperature the moment you press the button while wearing these watches.
