Originally $69.99 (this is 50% off).

About this item:
  • With HEV mode: additional High Energy Visible LEDs will harm bacteria but not your skin or pets, like UV can.
  • 1100 lumens: Ultra bright! But also dimmable via voice or app.
  • Full color: 550 billion possible color steps. RGBW LEDs for richer colors and huge 1500-9000K white range.
  • Why Wi-Fi? Control from anywhere. No bridge or hub required. (Use 2.4GHz).
  • Voice compatible (Alexa, Apple HomeKit / Siri, Hey Google) and simple to set up; screw in, open your preferred app and follow the prompts.

"By using our app to schedule a Clean Cycle, LIFX Clean can make your daily routine a bit more automatic. Without lifting a finger, wipe out E. coli and S. aureus on your bacteria-ridden phones, controllers, kitchen counters, bathroom sinks and more."

There was an expired deal previously where a 2-pack of these was $68.20 for reference. These should be (logically) pointed downward or facing the surface/area you are trying to hit with the anti-bacterial HEV color option. There is also the factor of distance (I believe it activates a mode for 2 hours as a setting so I doubt brightness would be adjustable in "clean" mode).

Ideas of locations to use this bulb:
  • An over-head bathroom sink light (that hits the sink area...and hopefully your toothbrushes lol)
  • Kitchen sink light (same concept as above)
  • Desk lamp (there's an image provided depicting this)
  • Make-up/grooming area/stations (clean razors, beard trimmers, clippers, brushes, tweezers, and more)
  • Entryway light (optimally hitting the door handle and maybe floor...and shoes?)
  • Pet area light (pets don't care about bacteria...we do and with them every little bit counts)
  • Sanitizing station (take the desk lamp idea and make a dedicated area to sanitize your phones, tablets, controllers, watches, dish-drying area...some of us don't use dishwashers)
  • Garage/Workshop (situational but some tools can do with being sanitized before each use)

Many bad reviews about disconnection issues and nonexistent customer service.

Probably explains the poor customer service recently.

The type of light or mode that lights have for killing viruses also can be harmful to humans. This one isn't (supposedly).

Many bad reviews about disconnection issues...
I never had that problem with this brand of LED bulbs. Now if you had said "many reviews (btw how many is "many"? Is it comparable to the POSITIVE reviews it gets?) mention issues setting these bulbs up initially" I'd agree that it can be a pain occasionally to set them up using a phone/tablet with all the connecting/disconnecting of the lightbulb's own "wifi" (you initially connect to the bulbs, with the app, directly to then pass on the wifi information you want it to have. Then it disconnects and reconnects...or tries and fails...to the wifi specified with credentials). There has always been an issue that isn't directly related to these bulbs but connecting to "wifi" that don't actually provide internet. That's usually the main issue with these LIFX from what I read, and experienced. Some phones/devices, no matter how fancy they are, do not like/do well connecting to devices in this manner. To this day I only remember one other thing that connected in a similar manner where it activated a "fake wifi" and devices would not stay connected for long enough to pass on the information.

There are a lot of forums on home lighting and such that have plenty of information to help.
