I have one of these in a 2 car garage filled with everything but cars. Motion detection is very good, color is good , mostly white light with a hint of blue. RIDICULOUSLY bright. I would probably have to wear sunglasses if I installed 4 of them in a 2 car garage like I was planning to.

My local Walmart had these clearanced out and I picked up a few. I couldn't really tell a big light difference between a normally sized 4ft shop light and these 3ft lights. I really like the transparent cover/diffuser over the LEDs. I have a few older shop lights with exposed LED strips that work great but are a pain in the eyeball if you have to look towards them.

I looked over the documentation that comes with it and it appears that daisy chaining these together provides passive power, so each light will be independently controlled by their own pull chain and PIR (person infrared) sensor.

Bought a few of these for the basement and didn't tell my wife they are motion-activated. She shut off the power strip one was connected that also powered the chest freezer. That was fun
It's fun just because you plugged your freezer to an extension power strip to begin with. Not only that but also shared the same strip to other lights.

These are great and a great price. Out of 10 I had one dead out of the box and another died after I hung it up. Easy replacement though

You say they're great, then admit to 20% being faulty from the start. Hmm.

for more than double the price is not much more money to you? its $22.35 each now.
Depends on how you do the math. Each of these is more than three times as bright and almost three times as long. So if you actually need this much light/coverage these Amazon ones are a better deal, and will make for a cleaner install.

thinking of more uses, like indoors but aimed out at the porch steps. Like the Wyze cams, it should trigger the light even behind glass I think.. FOUR should do the trick, thanks

I bought these last time, and as others have mentioned, they are very bright. It emits a daylight tone with only a slight bit of blue. I can also say that they do fine after being dropped from 5 feet.

There are some downsides:
- the motion detection is pretty bad. You have to be right in front of it; the angle is not very wide. It only seems to detect people. For example, I can open the garage door and drive my car into the garage without them turning on. Neither the garage door opening or the car movement will trigger the lights. It won't turn on until I step out of the car.
- they are linkable, but only for power. The motion on one doesn't trigger the other. You can't make the power output on one turn on or off based on motion either.
Mine turns on with the wind moving the curtains and umbrella outside on the porch.

Is this good for living room? I am using apartment lights and paying more electricity.
No. Think having a small sun in your living room. Not the right choice IMHO. Soft light would be better.

Looking to replace our fluorescent lights and maybe the ballasts... Only learned the other night that you can't just pop in a LED tube light to a fluorescent ballast. I guess I need a dummy starter at least...

Wish these were more like 4ft and not as bright as people are saying... the price would be right otherwise. A 2 pack of LED bulbs from a local store cost over $15 easily
I didn't pay more than $6 per tube when they're on clearances at Lowes or HD, here's Lowes universal for example that should work without messing with ballast: Color Correct Technology 32-Watt EQ 48-in Daylight Linear Type A LED Tube Light Bulb https://www.lowes.com/pd/GE-Color...5000197453 . You don't need any ballasts for LED tubes unless they made them compatible with digital ballasts (newer T8 or T5 lamps). Usually it's directly wired meaning you have to cut off ballast wires and connect the wires to socket ends to 120V wires instead (you won't be able to use fluorescent lamps afterwards in them though).
GE at Lowes offers different versions and there are one that's direct wire and another direct wire and replacement meaning it would either work on newer ballasts or as direct 120V connection so also kind of universal if you don't mind connecting few wires with wire nuts.

These do have non-trivial flicker for those who are sensitive to such things. The color rendering is satisfactory and much better than average for cheap lights. I ended up giving mine away due to the flicker.
