Heads up about after Christmas clearance at Walmart B&M: which is now 75% OFF. Very obviously, this is a YMMV deal.

The after Christmas two final clearance steps are 75% and after about a week: 90% off.

For reference: Last year after Christmas 75% off started on Dec. 31, and the final 90% off started on Jan. 7. This year's 2-day delay would indicate final 90% clearance start around Jan. 9 or 10th.

As prices go down, the stock goes out - to some individuals this simple fact appears to be a mystery and a reason to whine and thread crap profusely.

The provided BS link is only to reflect the current clearance discount - IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ACTUAL STOCK AVAILABLE.

Woke up bright and early for 6am store opening. At my local Walmart the signs say 50% and only some items are ringing up 75%. (Example some blow ups were 75% but others were 50%). Several people were asking employees about the 75%, but the general response was it was dictated by local office and they had never seen this before where some at 75% but others at 50% before.

This would be selected items just like the previous years. We saw them yesterday taking the trees and a majority of the other Christmas items to the metal shipping containers behind/beside the store while waiting for our curbside pickup. And bringing in what we believe was the regular garden department items.

Those items never go on sale/clearance?

Find myself less and less going to Walmart. I used to love going there when I was young. Now with the super long line/slow employee/strip search you for exiting the store is destroying the joy that I once had.

Due to shoplifters, I'm sure. Dishonest people have to ruin things for everyone else.

I went to a Walmart yesterday thinking they would be 75% off, but they were still just 50%. If it's 75% now, it just changed today.

The cheaper trees probably are. This is the third year we've tried to get that 10' $400 ($325 was the normal price in 2020) pre-lit aspen pine/fir tree on clearance (one of the few artificial trees that look real). One of the inflatables we watched them take out doesnt even have an option for in store pickup anymore

Bonus SD Tip:

Hide good quality items in spring seasonal area when Christmas/holiday/seasonal stock is plentiful and then scoop up when it hits 90%! Scored year after year this way.

Your welcome!

App was showing only 50% off on some things, made a pile first and stood in line for a human being anticipating at least drama to fix and maybe even going full male Karen on them but everything came in at 75% and before we were out 75% signs were getting hung

Sorry, but that is not a good tip to post in a public forum. Those with an IQ of 85 and up can figure out this much by themselves. All others will screw this up for everyone.

Shoplifting is one thing but react wrongly to it is another.

Look at the old justice system with the "innocent until proven guilty". Ask yourself why it was like that and people prefer that way than the "guilty until you admit you are guilty doesn't matter if you did it or not" or aka "You are guilty because we say so".

Again they can only strip search innocent people. Do you think the actual shoplifter would let them strip search? If it work so well, why do they have to lock everything up in bad neighborhood that is ramped with shoplifting?

I point to the Asian grocery stores that have the cashiers lineup before the exit. Notice they don't have to strip search you. You have to walk pass a cashier to exit. They hire a police at the end, one signal from the cashier and that police can easily stop the shoplifter. Again, don't mean to assume guilty until declared innocent. Just make the process flow smoothly.

Thanks for the info. I was only using the app and the employees were checking with their app as well. Maybe I will stop back and check the status.
