Regarding the build quality - The HP Elitebook series will be better than any consumer models (Spectre, Lenovo Slim, Inspiron, etc...). Basically, other than the Macbook Air/Pro, the Elitebook will be better build quality than anything you can find at Costco.
Compared to other business laptops on build quality (feel) - I'd still rank Thinkpads as higher build quality, then Dell Precision, then HP. When you talk about reliability though, I would go Thinkpad, then HP, then Dell.
From a performance perspective, this is a great deal for folks. Unless you are gaming, the 680M integrated graphics card is the best integrated graphics card out there. Period.
If you're wanting a cool running, high performing laptop, this is a good deal, unless you can find an equal deal on the Thinkpad.

c) Click 'Sign In' and log into id.me
d) It will forward do to HP's site: "HP Employee Purchase Program. Welcome ID.me"
e) Click 'Register'
f) create the account and you will get the discounted price after done

b) Click 'Register'
c) Fill in 'First name', 'Last name', 'Email address'

Text can have its font sized changed in any modern IDE/Editor. I'm saying low res, 1920x1200 is unclear for my personal preference, not because of lines of code. But because the quality of the text - blurry font edges, etc.
You can compare a 1920x1200 vs a 3k res display. Size both so there's the same amount of lines. The high res display will have crispier fonts with all other things being equal.

Getting sidetracked with this, so I'll drop the resolution debate for another time and place.
Built quality of Z13/Z16 feel better and balanced in hand and bag..(only time will tell)..don't know about HP..historically I never had good experiences with HP trackpads, fan noise and lots of bloatware…

Not a chance this thing ever sold at $3000+
I think this is still a good deal, if you're looking for a ryzen 6000 series CPU (runs cooler than comparable intels) and an integrated GPU for light gaming, 3D modeling (auto cad, sketchup), WITH 32GB ram or upgradable to 32GB.
There's just not many laptops that fit these requirements, and I've been looking since I joined slickdeals in Oct.

For example, Lenovo and Dell both sell some really junky consumer laptops at really low prices e.g. you can get an Dell Inspiron at Best Buy for $300. Same with Lenovo Yoga and various junky HP models.
OTOH, Dell Precisions are used by the military in the middle of combat zones they're so sturdy and reliable. ThinkPads have been known for years for being extremely reliable, even when IBM sold the brand to Lenovo.
Of course you'll pay a huge premium for ThinkPads and Precisions vs Yogas and Inspirons.
Elitebooks are business class and top tier for HP. Very reliable. Sub $1k for Elitebooks with these specs is pretty damn good.
I have not seen on Slickdeals a new Dell Precision with similar specs at this price in years. And not since Black Friday of 2021 were sub $1k Ryzen ThinkPads on sale.

I think - based on other comments - the Elitebooks are comparable to Dell Latitudes and Thinkpad T series. So they're good business class, but not quite as durable as P ThinkPads and Dell Precisions (which are tanks, in my experience).

Elitebooks might be similar to Latitudes or T series ThinkPads.
So then zbook are closer to Dell Precision or P series ThinkPads - highest quality "workstations."
Not perfect one-to-one equivalence between models, but probably close enough.
That being said, these Elitebooks at $700-$900 are decently priced, but not nearly the steal they'd be if they were P ThinkPads or Precisions. You can often get decently specced Latitudes for $700 - even less if you go to Dell outlet and get business returns.
