Microsoft also has the PC versions of the Yakuza games for the same price. Since the Xbox versions are mostly limited to 1080P and/or 60 fps even on the Series X (one even being limited to 30 fps), I went with the PC versions. It's about $30 for Yakuza 0-6 total, which I think is cheaper than any legit deal on the Steam versions.
I also recommend picking up Yakuza: Like a Dragon from the Xbox store when it goes on sale (it was $18 yesterday, but now back to $60). It's Play Anywhere, meaning you get both the Xbox and PC version.
The Yakuza series is a great series. Started with 7 and then went back to 0, 1, and am currently working on 2. I doubt I'll finish them all before they leave Gamepass.
Fanatical's prices for these games on steam are close to or better than Microsoft's if you're looking for pc versions.
I hear you, my guy. Fanatical's pricing isn't as attractive as the ones in this promotion, and the only games on the list that I was attracted to were Yakuza 2 and 6 since I already own the rest of the sequels so I followed your suggestion and was able to snag those 2x games for $10.78. Pricing on other competitive storefronts couldn't compare so there's that.
Yakuza 0 is by far the best of the series. Everything about it is a highlight. Combat is smooth, upgrading is simple, story line is fantastic and captivating. The only game I wish I could replay for the first time again.
In what order should I play these games to get the best experience in terms of story and gameplay?

Most people will say in chronological order, starting with Yakuza 0 (the prequel, which came out right before Yakuza 6), then Kiwami 1, Kiwami 2, Yakuza 3 and so on. That's what I did. But in all honesty, I feel like K1, K2, then Y0 would have been better. Having played the entire series, I felt like there was a major disconnect from Y0 to K1. I can't go into details without spoiling it, but I felt like there could've been another prequel.
Y3 - Y5 were painful to get through. Enemies constantly blocked your attacks. I highly recommend just watching in depth recaps of Y3 and Y4, then playing Y5 and Y6. Y6 is beautiful and is the swansong of the main character, Kiryu Kazuma. Ultimately Y0 is an all-time favorite, highly regarded as one of the best of the entire series.
Hope this helps and if you only had one to play, then Yakuza 0 is my vote.

I'd say 0, 1, 2 or 1, 2, 0 if you like flashbacks.
0, 1,2 for a chronological sequence.
However, since the main city map is reused very often you may not want to play through 0-7 without taking a break to play other games. It does get old to revisit the same map and sometimes the same shops for more than 5 times.
Also, if you start with 0, 1, 2. 3-6 may be technical downgrades as they were not remakes only remaster at best. I personally only played 0, 1, 2, 7 (7 is a brand new story with a new protagnist, also changed style to more of a turn-based RPG like Dragon Quest. Also 7 is funnier with more jokes.) 3-5 look like last gen games. 6 is okay but not graphically as good as 0, 1, 2, 7.
Bayonetta + Vanquish are both excellent games. But honestly I was disappointed with the remasters. Could've been so much better. Seemed pretty lazy to me.

Absolutely worth picking up. First game I played start to finish on the Steam Deck. Might pick it up for the Xbox too.
